請問一下這題答案為什麼是E?? 我覺得是C啊. 1)+2)不是可以算出r=18嗎?

通常AT考數線都是在考數的正負性，這題也不例外。

(1) The distance between r and 0 is 3 times the distance between m and 0 .
可以知道 |r|=|3m| ==>| |為絕對值

(2) 12 is halfway between m and r.
有可能是 (r-m)/2=12
或 (r+m)/2=12
這兩種算起來r都不相同
所以應該都不充分

舉個例來說，1和3的中點是2，算法是(1+3)/2；可是若是(-1)和3的中點是1，算法就成了[3+(-1)]/2，這樣不就成了(3-1)/2了嗎？

(m+r) / 2 = 12 insufficient

因為r and m 不一定相同的正負號.
所以假設r = -3m or r = 3m (同號與不同號)
m = -r/3 or r/3
帶進去
m+r = 24 => -r/3 + r = 24 => -r + 3r = 72 => 2r = 72 => r = 36
或者m+r=24 => r/3 + r = 72 => r + 3r = 72 => 4r=72 => r = 18
