請問平行結構與分詞構句

想請問大家一個問題。
以下這個題目是從莫老師出的那本文法修辭精粹來的。

有一個正確的句子如下:
During the 1940’s and 50’, Agnes Martin, the renowned American painter, explored Asian thought, reading works of the Buddhist scholar D.T Suzuke and attending lectures by the Indian philosopher Krishnamutri.

這是:
1. explored, read, and attended的减化。
2. 還是非限定關系代名词子句减化成的分詞構句 reading works of the Buddhist scholar D.T Suzuke and attending lectures by the Indian philosopher Krishnamutri.用來形容explored Asian thought.这一件事呢?

莫老師好像傾向於將這樣的題解釋成平行結構的簡化。
書上的解釋是explored, read, and attended的减化，可是把過去式簡化成Ving有什麼意義呢?沒有達到減化的功效啊!
所以我覺得比較像是分詞構句用來形容exploed Asian thought這件事。

另外，
我同學跟我說OG#185莫老師也是這樣解釋的。(因為我沒上過課)
題目 :
The recent surge in the number of airplane flights has clogged the nation's air-traffic control system, leading to a 55-percent increase in delays at airports and prompting fears among some officials that safety is being compromised.
莫老師也說是clogged , lead, and prompted 的減化(我不懂and平行的好好的為啥要簡化??)
可是這一題感覺是flights clogged the system在先，lead 跟prompt在後，所以leading 跟prompting感覺是用來形容airplane flights has clogged the nation's air-traffic control system這一件事的。

混亂混亂。
請高手看看囉~~

我的想法跟你一樣，傾向於使用分詞表伴隨的意思。

我剛又想了一下:

到底後面這一串reading works of the Buddhist scholar D.T Suzuke and attending lectures by the Indian philosopher Krishnamutri.
如果是做形容詞子句的減化的話，到底是在形容Agnes Martin還是Agnes Martin explored Asian thought 這件事。

如果只是光想的，我會覺得形容Agnes Martin explored Asian thought 這一件事比較合理。(跟OG#185的原因一樣，指代airplane flights has clogged the nation's air-traffic control system這件事)
如果是指這件事，應該用which來還原，還原的結果:
Agnes Martin explored Asian thought , which read works of the Buddhist scholar D.T Suzuke and attended lectures by the Indian philosopher Krishnamutri.
太詭異了，Agnes Martin explored Asian thought 這件事應該不會read或attended吧，會做這兩件事的人應該是Agnes Martin才對。
那到底要怎麼還原呢?
Agnes Martin explored Asian thought , who read and attended sth.
這樣感覺比較順，所以這裡跟OG#185的功能不同囉....#185是做非限定形容詞形容前面airplane flights has clogged the nation's air-traffic control system這件事而這裡是做分詞構句做Martin動作的減化??。

最重要的是這麼該不是,,and造成的平行結構吧。
不然看到,,and時就不知道到底平行的是要 V, V, and V(如OG #191)
還是 V, Ving , and Ving了(如莫老師說的)
