如果要單就句子來看，先不考慮“namely”的意思....

整個畫線的部分會形成一個以名詞『variation』為主的『同位語』....簡單的說，整個畫線部份的主角就是『variation』....所以畫線部分不是『副詞片語』而是『名詞同位語』....

就句意上而言，我也實在是無從判斷『variation』究竟要解釋誰，究竟跟誰同位....

因為前方沒有任何名詞可以用『variation』來做同位語修飾....要說『variation』做同位語修飾主要句子又似乎過於牽強，在語意上完全不通....

而事實上，真正讓C選項出問題的是整句話的主詞『it』因為它完全沒有代替到任何單數名詞....

如果我們再把『namely』的用法跟意思加進來考慮的話，那C選項不管在結構上或是語意上都是無法說的通的....

可是主詞『it』又跟C選項一樣呈現『無所代』的狀態....所以又是一個致命傷....

當然或許程度好一點的人會說：『有啊！誰說it無所代？這裡的it是虛主詞，真正主詞在後面從that開始的子句！』

這時侯，我就必須請你睜大眼睛看清楚『that』後面帶出來的子句能不能當主詞了....

如果看不出來，請自行研究『that所帶出名詞子句』與『that所帶出形容詞子句』之差別....剩下就不多廢話了....
