這邊應該沒有你所謂的make A as B
斷句應該降子斷:
make/his letters/as a group/the rival of
as a group是修飾letters 的介詞片語
而非你所說的make/his letters/as/ a group.....
考的仍然是make A B的用法
這邊的as a group應該是用來強調letters(文學的集合名詞,不是很多信喔...)
D跟A只差在S-V agreement
意思是
觀察力使Byron的文學作品成為可與當代最佳小說的抗衡rival
