The artist Renoir's last word was "flowers", spoken as they arranged a bouquet of roses just picked from his garden in a vase on his bedroom windowsill.
A. as they arranged a bouquet of roses just picked from his garden

B. as a bouquet of roses had been just picked from his garden and was being arranged

C. as abouquet of roses just picked form his garden was being arranged

D. during the arrangement of a bouquet of roses just picked from his garden

E. while they arranged a bouquet of roses that had just been picked from his garden

Ans: C

請教大大，"as"在C的用法是？？，因為看不太懂C的意思，故沒選，而選B

A, E不選個人是認為因they有代指不清的問題，D不選是因”.....a bouquet of roses just picked from his garden in a vase on his bedroom windowsill”會有修飾語誤植，造成句意不合邏輯的問題。

最後就是想知道C的句意為何？？而B又有何毛病？？

Answer must be B or C becuase "they" refers to no body and arrangement is a noun and not preferred by GMAT. "Had" is kind of wrong since there is no past tense adjecent to it. C is the best. You can kill this question in one minute.

選項(A),(D)及(E)先刪掉,現在只剩下(B)及(C),因為(B)答案內有過去完成式, 當答案裡有過去完成式盡量少選, 因為ETS較prefer簡單式,而(B)及(C)答案的意思其實並不相同, (B)以and連接兩個動作,其主詞皆為a bouquet of roses, 但(C)選項的just picked from his garden是修飾語,修飾前面的a bouquet of roses, 而動作其實只有一個, 即是後面的was being arranged..., 因此(C)可能會是較好的答案
