這裡的 there were 只是表簡單得『有』的概念
就像 there is a book. 的感覺一樣

(C) (E) 選一個. (C) 現在 1 compuer/32 pupils, 從前 1 computer/128 pupils, (E) 現在 32 pupils/computer, 從前 8 pupils/computer (從前的情況比較優=>不合理), 另一個錯:as many as 後面時態比較早不能省略;
