我最後是A.C決選as 和to be
原題意思應該就如keane所說的Gas hygrate的研究會造成海床不穩
所以possible causing...應該是修飾Gas hygrate的研究

選項E的句意會怪異--氫氧化物氣體被研究的越來越多是因為其有潛力儲存大量的能源,造成海床不穩和明顯是全球暖化的原因
且句子後段變成是and平衡三個as..,as..,and as
如果是這樣平衡的話後兩個as應該要省略

但是還是覺得Gas hydrates are being studied，會伴隨著possibly causing sea floor instability有點奇怪；如果是這樣的話，那不就要叫科學家不要再研究Gas hydrates, 不然又有海底層又可能會不穩定、全球又可能會暖化.
我認為是Gas hydrates本身have the potential as 1. reservoirs 2. possible causes 3. contributors, 這三個特性讓科學家研究它
介詞+受詞時, 受詞不一樣時介詞也需保留

從their potential可知potential是名詞
當名詞時有兩種用法
1)possibility : (A)...their potential to be huge reservoirs => 他們成為reservoirs的機會, 這樣跟後面的possibly causing..., and significant ...造成句意怪異
2)a talent or ability that is present but that may or may not be developed yet : (E) their potential as (1) reservoir, (2) causes and (3) contributors
