就句意來說　前半段講很多的小博物館對歷史及當地族群有貢獻，後半段說也有不少博物館開放給大家夏天去研究探索
那麼，句意沒有變化，選D是可接受

只是我就是句意沒有前後起轉折，選了E
進一步想想，要是E 後半段的and also, 以及that are.....
真是可以考慮一下E的

呵呵偷偷告訴大家我是被either or困住的.....

做了一些SC的題目以後自己莫名的有一個心得.....就是...在題目中有些有語意的字變得不敢隨便刪掉....老覺得刪掉會改變句意...

像這邊的either or......

不知道大家做這題是怎麼看這個部分的.....請教教我....

找到這個用法 :

devoted :Something that is devoted to a particular thing deals only with that thing or contains only that thing.

很多人非常愛用莫老的"改變句意"，特別是有些關鍵時刻，會優先以原題有的而排除別的看起來怪怪的選項，坦白說，我迄今參透不了這句話的真實意涵，當然也不能完全苟同

我寧願從題目的精髓去看待，因為每一題都有ETS想講的道理在裡面，與其牽就原題給的資訊，倒不如從整體去找出最好但又能傳達句意的選項，恐怕較好

這一題 我和魚一樣選了C ,但是選完後總覺得還是不妥.....

這題 我就是被 dozens 和 one-of-a-kind 這兩個字牽引以為有對比轉折意味, 但其實若多花時間詳讀整個句子,不難發現這兩句拼湊起來其實沒有轉折語氣的. 因為前面句子和後面句子是兩個separate information, 無關聯性, 用and連接似乎比較合乎邏輯... 另外 大家是否注意到前後兩個句子結構有平行:

1. dozens of New York's small museums VS many one-of-a-kind
museums

2. devote to local history or various ethnic groups VS open for
exploration on summer weekends.


做完這題, 讓我更深信, 做SC題目時千萬不能一時衝動, 多花點時間(時間需自行斟酌)分析一下整個句子 通常會是做對關鍵. 急著要選出答案是沒有用的...
最近我在做SC補充題時, 發現有些題目設計會引導你快快選出"錯"的答案,
ETS真的心機很重, 答題速度並不與答題正確率劃上等號, 這方面我感觸粉深喔...大家參考參考... :P

看了大家的討論，我覺得很驚訝！
為什麼有人會被either or困住!!
E選項也不是什麼Dangling。
這一題靠最基本的結構就可以在第一眼看到題目先把ABE刪除(做托福文法或GMAT修辭都一樣，要先看基本架構，滿足了才看細節如EITHER OR...等。)
再來CD選一個是語意問題。
