因為非限定形容詞子句會比較清楚
而分詞片語容易讓人誤會成是分詞代替連接詞

我覺得這堤B比較好的原因在於
or surface fires that burn....but do not....
這裡是一各對稱
可能在劃線的部份之後
所以很多人因為趕時間要做快一點
往往忽略了沒有劃線的部份
只注意劃線的部份
(D) fires, burning down indivedual trees but not do not denude
the forest.
在D這選項中
用子句當形容詞修飾fires是正確的,但是這樣but連接詞後面的S卻不見了
這樣的對稱就不正確了
其實在考修辭時很多人為了快速,只看畫線部分,其實沒有劃線的地方才是最大的暗示,暗示不僅在文意上,並且在文法上,大家不應該輕忽的

因為句子的意思就是衛星影像看不出來這類的森林破壞.....

因為surface fires必須用限定修飾 (因為還有其他種surface fires)~合理 ;且burn和do not denude平行
而D,變成非限定(表沒有其他種surface fires)~不合理; 且burning和do not denude不平行
