另外，render O1 O2 (由輕到重) render O2 O1=>
render harmless the chemical irritant

最後變成了=>
attempt to metabolize, or render harmless, the chemical irritant

覺得把 harmless 放前面是修飾的關係:因為這樣一來 harmeless 只修飾 render the chemical irritant, 不會修飾到 metabolize the chemical irritant.
