代名詞要用 it, 不能用 that (指示代名詞)
i.e. it 才能代 Morocoo ; that 不是指"那個" Morocoo (先前沒提過,別的 Morocoo)

還有一個地方令我不解，
答案D-without that they could never be~~~~
為何that不對呢？

大家都忘了這個問題了? 為什麼?為什麼?
OG 11會說that不對呢?

這裡that要指到Morocco 實在太不可能了:
因為that通常指最靠近的名詞, 往前找最靠近的名詞是the twentieth century, 再往前是French. 無法指到Morocco
句意就錯啦, 變成法國人沒有"自己", 他們在Algeria的掌控就不安全

所以要用代名詞it去指前面單數的名詞, B的it 就可以指到Morocco 唯一的單數名詞 (這裡the French 當複數-法國人來用, 所以用their)

看法分享囉！

1、be of N的句型看似特殊，其實只要把of N看成形容詞就好啦！

was also of interest to the French = was aslo interesting to French
那為何要用of N呢？ 目的在於"強調"，讓讀者對該詞更加注意(只用在書寫上…尤其是正式的文章上)

2、 that 不可單獨指代(在GMAT中)，唯一可以的情況是在that之後還修飾語(因為這樣才可以清楚知道that在句子中的功用)

為何B的it沒有指代不清的問題
而E的it有這個問題??

小弟也很納悶B的it為何沒有指代不清的問題？
難道不會有指代Morocco與Strait of Gibraltar的爭議？
煩請大牛開示～
