V-ing的形式是表示"正在進行"

or"一直都是如此", "真理"(EX.太陽從東方升起)

這樣解釋對嗎?

雖然還是有點沒有搞通什麼時機該直接用V-ing

何時應該用 that V

我看了那篇討論後有個想法：

情況一：
n that...=n Ving...都表限定用法。

情況二：
n Ving...非限定用法，表n正在進行的動作。

也就是說n Ving可以表示了種不同的用法，而n that僅用限定用法。

上句等於Peter's father living in the US is a policeman. 嗎?

“Peter 住在美國的爸爸是警察。”
代表Peter還有其他爸爸住在其他國家
logical flaw！

根據上面幾篇的討論，
第二句的意思可以等於也可以不等於第一句。
不過除非有好幾個老爸，要不然不會看到這種句子。

Peter’s father, who lives in the US, is a policeman. （○）
上句等於Peter’s father, living in the US, is a policeman.嗎?

等於！

不過有個小建議

可以把非限定用法換個說法, 例如"不是"限定用法會不會比較好?

不會跟用comma分隔的那種非限定用法混淆
