當然要用hold阿
法律條文如果用過去式,不會覺得很怪嗎???

這裡不用that 的原因
that修飾imprisonment,這不太合理
看D,他就很明白,for指出對象是誰,to做了什麼事情
我個人覺得法律用語,就是要像這樣的修飾,會比較清楚
個人看法,請指教

這裡的 Because of 後面確實是接名詞阿--a law
passed in 1933 當過去分詞修飾 the law, 另外making it a crime punishable則是帶出分詞修飾前面 passed 動作的同時延續 (有因果關係的意味),


D之所以優於C, 我想補充一點 ,因為law 屬法律名詞所以不用關代限定修飾,
必須要用現在分詞ving修飾 (我記得這點我先前提過)

it 變成有兩種可能 所以 D還是比A好....................

再進一步刪E （Due to)少選，並且不放句話
至於A，還是有問題無法解決，也是有修飾歧義的問題
是可以選到D沒錯，但坦白說不容易

關於這題，我自己 是D, E上有問題，剛好看到，所以我補充一下有關DUE TO在OG 上的解釋，在OG-175

C錯是因為：
A law [s]passed in 1933 that made it a crime punishable by imprisonment for a United States citizen holding gold in the form of bullion or coins,[/s] immigrants found that on arrival in the United States they had to surrender all of the gold they had brought with them.
a law不等於immigrants。

2.it 是指代that........coins 一整句話對嗎?

你是說D的it嗎？還是B的it？
D的it只是個虛主詞，B的it則代that....coins。

a citizen要接holds，所以B錯。

with確實可以表示because的意思，我在大全裡遇過（少數我還記得的文法點之一....），只是ETS多用because，但這不代表用with一定不是正確答案。

題外話：
表達法律或是科學研究成果時要用現在式，所以這裡前後時態不一可以理解。

選項A錯在1993後面多一各逗點
原本making it a crime 應該是要修飾law的吧
可是現在多一各逗點
變的要與後面的immigrant搭上線
那這句是不是舊脫節了呢
而且也可以說是歧意
這題我剛開始做的時候就選了D
但是一值看不出來A錯在哪
只覺得A那個逗號很怪
因為他也不是補述用法
這ets還滿愛烤在選項中迷或大家的
大家要注意一點
看到逗號就要注意它是否是補述非限定用法
還是分詞
2.再來我覺得這題還考了一各虛受詞的用法
受詞太長了
所以把受詞和受詞補語交換位置
用了it代替受詞
至於真正的受詞的表示方法有兩各
一個是that +子句
一個是for +對象+to+V
虛受詞這方面依選項來看A與D都是正確的
有人會說莫老師應該有說用片語比用子句來的簡潔
但我想這是成立的,但不能說子句不對
但還是要先看是否還有選項有錯誤
而且to+V可以當形容詞也可以當副詞
很容易出現歧意,所以你說不定詞好還是子句呢
真的沒有一定吧,主要是看表達的是否能把意思表的清楚才是重點
而選D的原因是因為脫節與歧意
簡潔與否只是當做最後的參考

嗯... 我覺得(C)不能說是同位語的錯，(C)可以視為獨立分詞構句 / _ \
(有點走火入魔的感覺...)
不過跟主要子句的連結太弱了點

要跟(D)決勝的話是無法勝出的
