我想再延伸幾個問題
1.再平衡法則是不是優於字的替換,像這題用as well as雖然看的懂,但ETS卻不是那麼prefer
2.就問題1再做個延伸,這題用as well as和and的句意差別,就我的認知,用A as well as B是表附帶狀況,附帶的就是B,強調的重心會在A,如果A and B,表示A跟B都是強調的重點

想確認其細部的意思,請大家再來討論一下

1.再平衡法則是不是優於字的替換,像這題用as well as雖然看的懂,但ETS卻不是那麼prefer
2.就問題1再做個延伸,這題用as well as和and的句意差別,就我的認知,用A as well as B是表附帶狀況,附帶的就是B,強調的重心會在A,如果A and B,表示A跟B都是強調的重點

根據老莫的說法是as well as有和...一樣及不僅兩種意思
其中不僅的用法他舉例
He sent me a letter as well as some money.
這裡letter和money一樣重要
He sent me a letter and some money.
這裡就以letter為主
所以as well as不等於and~~

就最基本的平衡來看
a critiquie ... as well as a vision
後面用名詞是比較好的

我覺得不會這樣斷啦 :P
我比較擔心的斷法是
a critique of ( all chemistry since Robert Boyle as well a vision of new .... )
就是典型的 a of b and c 會出現的問題
即便是這樣 chemistry 跟 vision 的平衡應該還是優於 envisioning

B中幾個不好的
1. a critique....and also his envisioning... 平行的結構太醜,用N and N會好些
2. following有文字上解釋的意思,會讓人誤會是"跟著"的意思而非時間的前後

A比較起來是對稱與清楚的

綜合上面兩個網站跟我的想法，B有下面幾個問題:

1. and also=also (redundant)

B. a critique of all chemistry following Robert Boyle and also his envisioning of a

上面紅色的his可以指Davy也可以指Boyle (ambiguaty)
(顯然不是指Boyle因為後面接Davy的希望)

3. follow在句意上比較像是"追隨"，跟其他選項中的時間副詞表達從Robert Boyle之後好像有一點不太一樣

不過，
1. 我記得and, also 意思不同
考古題中莫老應該有提出原題有also 選項沒a lso 改變句意的解釋過吧！所以不至於 redundant 呀！

2. his 就更沒問題
沒畫線的 his 代替 Davy，畫線中的his 一定就得代 Davy，
同一個句子裡代名詞不得代不同人或東西，
所以也不會有 ambiguous 之嫌。

3. following 我覺得更對啦！
因為 Robert Boyle 一定是比 Davy 更早的人物啦！

但 A 的 since 當 conj 一定錯， 因為後面不成句子，就算當prep也錯，因為不管它的詞性為何，搭配完成式，這是一定要的啊！！

我當然覺得 B 選項也有瑕疵啦∼
像是 vision 名詞不用，偏偏要用 envisioning 讓人搞不太懂的意思，不過我不懂，不代表他就錯呀？

更何況，時態鐵律一用，A 一定必死的呀！！
