跟a large number of 的用法是一樣的
不過當然就是有比例的意思啦
字典上寫
a large proportion (=numbner) of people are engaged in the production of goods.
A large proportion of the earth's surface is covered with water.
動辭跟著主辭可不可數走
是這樣對嗎?

much 應該是修飾Eastern Europe
在大部分的東歐地區
有錯請指正

這題是同位語 還是獨立主格結構(獨立分詞) ? 我覺得應該是後者….
An overwhelming proportion of women works, and many of them are in middle management and light industry.
省略and和are. 主詞不同保留
同位語是用來補充說明前面的名詞, 不太可能直接接在動詞後面吧….

關於as/like的比較用法,
今天再看一次OG126解釋,有提到在做比較時,as慣用當連接詞後接附屬子句,而like 慣用當介系詞,成為介系詞片語,
根據解釋,
我在想如果即使E選改為like in much of EE,..
也是錯的吧

which 是關係代名詞,引導子句,所以要有動詞.

好比在許多東歐的地方. "東歐的地方"不可數,所以用 much

這題我不選C的原因，是因為many of them, 我想many of whom 不是較佳嗎？若用many of them 會不會有流水句的可能？還是many of them 其實是women的同位語？

用 many of whom 的話,因為 whom 必需接子句,要有動詞.
用 many of them 做主詞,省掉 be 動詞 (being), 為獨立片語結構.

2. 比例名詞 porportion 的單複數(由後面名詞決定)
3. 關係代名詞 vs 代名詞
4. as(連接詞:接子句,考省略與對稱結構) vs like(介係詞:接名詞,比較要同類,而且只能跟名詞比較)

洞悉考點後,可以快速解題: 對稱=> (A) (C) 選一個; 比較長短 => (C)
檢查 (A) : which不能指人 => 確認答案
