至於help boost的問題
我有一點微弱的印象是help V，help後面的動詞可以原型動詞省略to
但我查到的好像大多是help Ving....

樓上FannyHsieh大大講的沒錯…
【according to MACMILLAN－Help】
1. help (to) do sth － means to make it easier to achieve sth
EX: The new measure will help boost trade.

2. help sb (to) do sth －EX: Can you help me find my glasses?


Help還有很多idiom的用法不是只有兩種，我只提與本題相關的而己，有興趣者多查字典吧！
至於help+ving，字典只看到can’t help thinking的用法，
沒看到help+Ｖing的用法（P.S希望不是我瞎了），請樓上FannyHsieh大大提供你查到的部份


Ａnyway，這題我再選時，看Ａ表示能夠ＸＸＸ，而Ｅ表示有ＸＸ能力，直接選Ａ

(A) 的句意會不會不有些太合理呀?
在測試中的飛機本來就會飛,還是終將具有飛行能力(如果測試進行順利).
覺得 (E) 不甚簡潔,但這樣的句意似乎有必要.

(A) 如果真要由輕到重,是不是應該這樣寫: being tested is a new type of jet engine that could... 從非劃線部份來推敲,原句沒有這個意思. that 應該是代替 is 的補語,但是這裡給的補語是形容詞!可以查證一下 that 可以跳過動詞去代前面名詞的嗎?

這題我也是A和E抉擇。
A和E差別在A用that(名詞子句，指誰???)，E用對等連接辭(,and)還有it(???)
這兩邊說好或不好，都有點怪怪。
後來我看到E有could.....capability，我就把E刪了。
因為redundency。

加上看到以上大家的分享，
我覺得答案就是A啦~~

1.That sex ratio will be favored which maximizes the number of descendants an individual will have and hence the number of gene copies transmitted.
雖然這句不是由that來修飾，由which來修飾，但是應該跟本題類似吧!
因為頭重腳輕，所以把動詞放在主詞後面
