我覺得這一 題date應該與estimate的用法一樣, estimate + at +N (只能加名詞), 而estimate + to be + N (或者Adj都可), 而.... old是個形容詞, 所以只能選(C), 而不選(E)

years old 是名詞(形容詞 old 後衛修飾名詞 years)
He is five years old. 在 He is five years. 的意義大於 He is old.
可以看出重點在 years; old 只是修飾作用.
用法如同OG10-Q85 句子裡的 with all things antique (antique 後衛修飾名詞 things).

這題如果從 (A) 的線索,改正主動詞不一致,就 (C) 最接近.但是它似有意考 'at' vs 'to be'. 如果是慣用法, date 幾乎都是和 at 連用.
