我是想成限定用法的關係代名詞

想請教一下B選項

除了ever more and more很怪之外，which代替measurement有沒有錯？我想說這裡又不是要修飾整句，這樣用應該沒問題吧？

"scientists hope the measurements will enable them to understand...."
這句話讓我想到一個作題沒有想到的問題, 這句話的文法結構是Vt+O (hope the measurement)還是 Vt+N (hope that the measurements will...)？
如果是Vt+N，那麼可以用關代改成measurements that scientists hope will嗎？

--> 沒看過V +助V的寫法耶!! 加上這樣寫容易搞混 是誰 will..scientists or measurements...
所以我絕得A錯
或者說這裡scientists hope是插入句即 measurements that, scientist hope, will enable?
插入語短時前後逗點可省嗎？求教

(A) 不選是因為 enable 的主詞只能是人嗎?

答案可以能是 C or E。

(A)(B)絕對不會是對的

把句子還原就知道的。

(A)...ever more precise measurements that scientists hope will enable them to understand...

hope當 (V)-> scientists hope (that) ever more precise measurements will enable them to understand...
但是不可以這樣搬動，因為hope後面以that子句為O。不可以把子句的某個部份就搬到前面去

hope當(N)-->前面的大大已經解釋過了，就不重複解釋。

(B)錯誤的地方很多，除了上面的原因外，還包括使用continuous tense

我個人比較傾向選 C

但是C有一個問題，我記得莫老說過，表目的的話，要優先考慮 to，看到 for 的不要選

但是E的問題更多
(1)it不知道會不會有指代不清的問題？是代替Eros還是spacecraft
(2)in order to 太囉唆，為什麼不直接寫to
(3)hope + that. (一般選答案裡面，這種that通常不要省略會比較好)

這題我在練習的時侯選(A)，看了版上大大們的討論更加認為是(A)。首先giraffe大大所找到的NASA的句子已經證明了...that scientists hope will enable...在文法上是沒有問題的；更重要的是，從句意上來說，(A)清楚了連接了兩件事的關係：Scientists希望more precise measures能夠幫助他們了解how the solar system formed，而(C)與(E)沒有表達這樣的關係，只說Scientists希望能夠了解how the solar system formed；因此，從文法與句意來說，我都認為答案應該是(A)。

enable的主詞不一定是人。so I go for A.

讚! 這樣 (A) 的疑慮可以消除了.

總覺得 (C) 從 to+V 換成 for+Ving 改變句意:前者為主動模式,"去..."以為目的(i.e. 駛近去測量);後者倒過來,"為了測量才駛近".
另外 (C) 結構改變,逗點造成句意不連貫.

(D)(E)還有一個很明顯的錯

make more precise measurements 會使句意ambiguity 到底more當adv修make表:做出更多精確的量測 還是more當adj修precise表:做出更精確的量測

og上也有此種結構 make more fuel-efficient cars 所以(d)(e)一定不會對

注意到(a)的寫法嗎make ever more precise measurement, 把make和more中間插入一個ever就解決掉這個問題了

我原是選(a)的，現在在(a)(c)不定中：

(a)... measurements that scientists hope will enable them to

that 是關係代名詞，作受詞用，可省，但這裡沒有省去。

(c)...measurements, and scientists

and 使得句意分割了，改變句意

所以 不知道要選什麼好…

雖沒在補習~~無法問，不過還是分享想法囉~

(A)的問題：

1. 逗號： 僅有一個，表示逗號之後完全是在補充說明前面句子的...will orbit....；但卻產生兩個概念 scientist hope will enable....，使得句子重心被破壞
2. that ：關代(受詞)measurements，意指 "scientists 希望 measurement 能夠使他們瞭解~~"，但是句子的主角應該是NEAR spacecraft，而非measurement ，因為more precise measurement只是補充說明, 並非句子所主要闡述的內容。
3. for & to : for 是為了, 表slowly moving的目的；而to 是去 (兩個意思皆可通)

(C)則用兩個逗號隔開，補充說明了obrit的情形與目的，並傳達了NEAR spacecraft will orbit這樣的情形來讓 scientists去瞭解solar system
