可是如果要加do

這樣一來,do就可以省啦
就像我們常說i have more mony than you. 而不是you do啊!

而C拿animals跟fat 罪不可赦呀!!

答案A:這裡有『do』文法上是可以的,但是不簡潔。（原本是than livestock fed on grain have, have改為do, 搬到前面去)
但是後面的a kind of fat they think is的they指代不清,若they指more of a kind of fat,fat不會主動think is good.
答案B:比較(A)選項少了助動詞do,因為句子裡livestock清楚為主詞.被動thought to be修飾前面的more of a kind of fat(原句more of a kind of fat are thought to be good for cardiac health)
答案C:that of livestock的that指什麼？若是指fat就變成wild animals跟fat比,不符合硬梆梆比
答案D: total fat跟livestock比,不符合硬梆梆比. 後面的they have more fay的they指代不清

看完各位NN精闢的講解，小弟講一下我的意見，我覺得這一題選(B)是沒有問題的
(B)省略了fat

(C) 不太好，that不知道要和誰比較。fat of a kind，讀起來也很怪異。說實在的，我真的沒讀過這種表達方式(有可能是讀太少也不一定)。

請各位NN指正。

討論 (B) 的省略會造成歧異:
1. livestock 沒有助動詞:可以跟 fat 或 animals 比較
2. have 提公因式, fed 也可以: livestock fed on {grain and more}

(C) that = fat ,句意清楚

我支持答案(C)
小小看法.
首先選項最後面不是thought to be的我會先刪除. 應該是人類去think的, 而非動物. 用被動比較合理.
所以剩下(B)(C)(D). 再者, (D)的比較不同類問題前面NN已經有提過
剩下還是(B)(C)決選.
以B的新資訊來看, livestock fed on grain, 句意上要跟前句主詞wild animals比較, 前句有主詞動詞受詞, 所以這邊必須要加上助動詞do. 如果B能改為than do livestock fed on grain會比較正確.
另外, B選項有另外一個問題and的平衡, B選項可以有2種解釋.
(1) 野生動物比起"餵grain還有more of a kind of fat的家畜"有較少的fat. 或是
(2) 野生動物比"餵grain家畜"有較少的fat, 以及野生動物有比較多某類被認為比較好的的fat



解釋的問題在C選項可以被解決, C的選項只有(2)這種解釋.
另外, 大家討論的問題再wild animal要怎麼跟that of livestock比.
我的看法是, C的新資訊是 of livestock fed on ., 以句意來看修飾的是前句的受詞fat. 因為fat有被修飾所有用that代替.
如果是代替前句的受詞, 那麼助動詞不需要出現.
例題除了上面說的OG19
rice has protein of higher quality than that in wheat
還有另外2題, 題號不太記得, 都是用that/those代替前句受詞的例子
