behaving as though you think you are better, more intelligent, or more important than other people - used to show disapproval:

覺得跟我對longman的字面了解是相反的ㄟ
我以為longman的解釋是說一個人自認為比別人更優秀更聰明
怎麼會是謙遜的呢 不是相反嗎?

1 a : to descend to a less formal or dignified level : UNBEND b : to waive the privileges of rank
2 : to assume an air of superiority

這是disapproving的字
並不是謙遜...
應該說是
1.(自以為高級而降級)屈就
2.(對某人)表現出優越感(例句的意思)

PS:翻譯機是那一台...可以丟了...它阻礙了你的英文進步

看來我對longman的解釋應該沒有理解錯誤

我前一陣子也用WM的 但是有時査不到想要的東西所以又換回longman
忽然覺得longman的線上字典非常好用
