申請書籍

1. 選校:
我終於在中文書裡面找到一本適合用來選校的書分享給大家連我自己都自嘆弗如這作者的精神 (後來發現他根本是已經開了代辦顧問之類的還是馬上就要開之類的 )

這本"全球頂尖MBA導覽"是我目前看過最好的內容雖校名翻譯上問題很多另外某些小部分學校的特色有部分有缺(比如馬里蘭的科技行銷就沒寫到) 但大體來看作者拿了三個排行榜加上網路上找了不少資料算整理功夫很好的了包括教學特色學生主體畢業placement 以及placement rate等等都有寫到大家有空真的可以買一本來share

有在書店翻過這本真的很豐富
作者用校際間的運動聯盟分成五個聯盟
我覺得不錯的地方是給讀者清楚的知道這個聯盟的特色
並且區分出就申請者本身的條件可以選擇的學校有哪些
蠻厚的一本書要花點時間去看

我也推薦這本"全球頂尖MBA導覽"
內容真的很豐富
一開始我是在圖書館看到的
後來老借不到就直接用買的
上金石堂網路書店還蠻便宜的

1. 我是在書局直接看用速讀花了五十分鐘瀏覽了幾乎所有的字當然能記得的不多但是作者很用心了.... hi MM94, you are right. What I mean is that book. Are you from AEGON? Well, I know a lot of people there before because the PDA system you use is from my ex-company.

But it is a pity that this book still use the common placement rate as an index(指標) instead of focusing on Chinese/ Taiwanse students. 但是這本書裡面幾個best buy都還蠻中肯的而且也有"設身處地"為了申請者著想分出一些 "適合工作經驗不足 "
"適合資金不足" "適合xxxxx"等這些是我覺得寫書必備的也是我自己最想做的事情所以推薦此書

ps..這本書是03年出版資訊較舊是可惜嚕尤其AT avg分數這幾年又高了20~30分另外像是UIUC的downtrend Emory的uptrend也沒寫出來當然這些都是因為這本書資訊本身是三年前的資訊不能怪作者

2.hi sunkan: what you mentioned is the one I think is useless. there are several reasons for my "useless" comment. 1. 寫的方式沒有business oriented... 2.該給的資訊也不夠@@ 3.分聯盟的寫法乍看有新意書本乍看很厚實但是.... 對於申請者的關鍵因素很多都沒有點明白比如說好了她說哈佛屬於很難申請 ... who doesn't know? Well..對我來說買書的用意就在於整理清晰而且寫出你查不到聽不到網路上看不到的"重要資訊" 這本我認為是大而無當了 if someone but it on some online bookstore, I recommend you cancel your order in 7 days ( free viewing in 7 days~)

不好意思,原來M大是說這本,記得在重慶南路的書店翻過,只是介紹的學校都是前百名的頂尖MBA,對我來說,看看就好,呵

Hi Sunkan, Gmat 600, 1.5+ yrs exp, and a persuasive essay. These are not really "tough" criteria for a common MBA applicant. As a result, be confident :)

There are a lot of schools (at leat 10 schools) listed in that book only require criteria that I listed above. ( CWRU, WilliaM and Mary, Rutgers, Suny-Buffalo, U of Denver, Temple U IMBA program....etc)

我只是覺得以我的gpa=2.42
而AT580並沒有說高到可以cover我的gpa的劣勢
讓我覺得這些名校對我來說太遙遠
步過我還是會嚐試看看

Take the Gmat test again. I got 580 in my first test without preparation. I felt terrible after that test, and do nothing in the 3 months after the test. Adn then, I decided to re take it again (610), and again (after 1 month from the second time).

Finally I got 640, not a pretty score but is enough for many many Top30 schools.

我也是有這樣想過要再考一次
可是有可能邊準備考試邊申請學校嗎
還是先申請完學校再考
我是覺得後者比較好
只是這樣在時間上學校會接受嗎

sunkan是指申請R3嗎?
這樣可能來不及而且R3也很趕
建議萬全準備去考試去申請才不會後悔喔 :smile
