有關美國的社區大學

我目前高中剛畢業
有計畫到美國去留學
但本身並沒有考過托福
如果要用條件式入學
我高中又不佳
所以
代辦中心建議我申請美國的社區大學
但我擔心社區大學的教授以及同學的素質
有朋友有經驗的可以給我一些建議嗎
或者推薦幾間比較優質的社區大學

如果你的高中GPA有超過3.0的話，
我會建議你還是直接申請條件式的大學。
就算是條件式的大學排名很多也都還不錯。
美國社區大學申請進入大學就讀的成功率只有50%，而且不是每個學校都承認你在社大的學分，這條路並不是很好走。

補充一下,這條路的確是條遠路,但是很多趕著臨時出國念大學的人卻很喜歡
去念社區大學在考慮轉學,是好是壞也很難說,畢竟每個人情況不一樣
但是發文者如果已經有想去的地方不妨可以先提出來討論
板上的人也比較好給你建議

Community College is the best option for you if you wish to get into a good university.

I am most familiar with the University of California system, which is the best public university system in the US. I know for a fact that transferring to a UC school (there are 10, 9 take undergraduates) would not be a problem if you 1) attend a community college in California and 2) maintain a good GPA.

You will find that if you intend to remain in the US afterwards, graduating from a good university would help.

就算是社區大學,也是有好的學生跟教授群. 轉學主要是一個心態的問題.社大很便宜大概是州大的一半.不過看你是不是喜歡學習環境.還有一個辦法就是申請跟你想去的大學有合作的大學或者社大

go to community college is one of the solutions. Which state are you interested? the price of going to community college is not cheap either for international student.
Do you consider price, place, and living environment? If you want go to california, where I was from, you can apply PCC (pasadena city college) it's a good school. I can give you more information if you want. But, there are many asian people.
In Michigan, where I'm now, doesn't have many Asian. you can appy WCC.
However, you need good score for transfering into better universities.

There are many good schools in USA. However, schools system is called College, which can be divided into university (private $$$$$ and public$$$), state university $$. The top 100 ranking is for universities only.

City College $ is for students, who don’t have much money to afford to study at university, or didn’t get admitted for the first place. But, for your case, as you are foreign student in States, tuition probably will cost you the same amount, even for going to City College (may be a bit cheaper). Most of the students decide transferring to University or State University when they feel ready and have met university’s requirement. You don’t have to decide what to study for the first two years, but you do have to concentrate on taking general courses and some of the engineering courses to meet requirement. However, there are students transferring from city college, state u, and university to university.

Most of the universities are looking for GPA 3.5 or better, and your toefl score (more than 550 or higher), state university will be GPA3.0, toefl 520(not sure) City college 社區大學 is looking for your high school transcribes and toefl too. You do need application for all colleges mentioned above.
