我今天收到invitation, 一月底在凱悅，
有點緊張，因為離deadline已經三個月了都沒消息，以為會被reject了，
沒想到天外飛來一筆面試....
面試官是Darryl Isom , 有人給他面試過嗎? 不知道他人怎麼樣...
另外問一個白吃問題，"Goizueta"這個字怎麼發音阿？

It's the same as its spelling, but there are still different accents even among American students...
You can pronounce it as "Goy-swet-uh" or "Goy-zwet-uh".

Hey,
I've realized that there are a lot of you who are getting interviews these days. I just wanted to throw out some basics to help you warm up a little bit. I'm having a final exam tomorrow, so I'll come back later to supplement whatever else I can think of.
Unfortunately I've never heard of Darryl Isom, so I can't tell you about his personalities or others, but I think in general, no matter which interviewer you might have, you should prepare for some basic behavioral questions, which you can find in this website. (just search by keywords "Emory" and / or "interview".
You should also be fully prepared for some questions such as your leadership and teamwork experiences, your stories about your past working experiences, Why MBA, Why Emory, Why now, Why the transitions, etc....
Goizueta is proud of its leadership and emphasizes its core values, so you should also be familiar with these. If you participated the coffee chat in Taipei with some of our current students last month, you should also think through it, and try to include what you've learned from current students in your answer to "why Emory"...
Two years ago, I was asked what I thought would be the most difficult thing I might encounter once I started my MBA in the States. You might not get the same question, but this type of question is to see how you deal with challenges. Don't be afraid of being realistic, but do remember to show your courage and your wisdom to overcome difficulties. (eg. if you are worried about your English, say it, but also let them know that you will be able to improve yourself quickly by learning, or by mingling with native English speakers, etc. etc.)

我今天也與Darryl完成我的interview，不過過程可以說是跌跌撞撞。
首先是昨天晚上才發現之前都忘記回email來re-confirm，原本想說被cancel了，後來在偉大的loony建議下決定還是去看看。沒想到今天坐火車去的時候，因為平交道發生車禍，delay了一個小時，結果到的時候就遲到40分鐘。原本想說他可能中午要吃飯了，就主動跟他改時間到下午兩點，結果下午他竟然說要等跟我的面談結束後才會吃... 害我還自以為貼心i63
整體來說就像是在聊天，Darryl人非常的nice也很funny。他手上已經拿著一疊資料，裡面好像是摘要我的一些essay內容以及分數的樣子。整個過程不像制式的面談，比較像是在聊天，如果要區分問題的話，主要如下:
1.辭職後都在幹麼？(大概發現我一直在解釋...就跟我說雖然美國人不會這樣，不過it's ok..學校能了解....真的能了解嗎~.~)
2.針對我的long-term goal提了點問題
3.討論了一下大學參加的社團及球隊
4.有沒有參加coffee chat?
5.Why Emory?
6.Why U.S.A?
7.會希望一直待在美國嗎？
8.Any question?
由於過程不像一般面試，所以我都要自己找機會補充一些我想講的東西(都稍微準備了，不講有點可惜:P)，也沒有很長，大概20~25分鐘。害我有種話好像還沒說完的感覺。後來U.S.A那題就變成在聊天，聊到影集去，就開始討論哪部好看，他不喜歡哪部，誰在影集看起來呆呆的..Orz
他也是跟我說4週才會有結果，總之是個很棒的人，很棒的經驗。
