guaguaso，上次我去拜訪學校的時候，聽Cornell的學生說，Cornell是marketing起家的學校！Cornell可以提供finance + marketing的課程，學生更可以從finance的角度去看待marketing的應用，至於找工作的話，多半還是以財經產業的marketing為主流，詳細情形你還是要跟當地學生多談談，可以得到更細部的資訊。

在這邊我想跟大家分享一下我的面試經驗
我在二月初就收到面試通知, 聽到板上說可以request off-campus
我馬上就打電話過去要到了兩個台灣校友的聯絡方式,之後有順利的約到了面試官
面試的內容真的如Mark所說的,應該算是比較tough,雖然也會問三Why, 不過會問得更深.
會問很多細節,每個工作的轉折,milestone, accomplishment,面試官都有問"原因"
我自認自己做事都是還蠻有邏輯的,還都可以用很合理的理由說服他
所以建議之後要面試Cornell的人,一定要把你的"career path"搞得非常非常清楚
我相信Cornell是要找一個思考邏輯清楚的人,知道並合理的解釋自己的人生中每一步的人.
Ex: why you started career at this company and industry, why you can be empowered for a important project , why change job function to this new company...
最後,我相信面試的確占很大比例 in application package.
因為我自覺essay寫得很normal,但是面試還聊得挺開心的.
希望有更多的台灣學生一起來念Cornell
PS:我的GPA只有3.1多,所以太低的同學別擔心摟.

i m on the waitlist, hopefully i can get feedback on my application and find ways to strengthen it!
i have a strong feelin that my low GMAT score is the reason......perhaps i have to re-take it.
to guaguaso -
also on marketing:
i m on the field for 6 years now, so maybe i can contribute sthg -
among all business fields, marketing is perhaps the area required the most domestic knowledge - that is, a strong understanding not only on language but also culture, so it will be more difficult to find a job in the US if you wanna work there. there is definitely a possibility, just harder, especially in the FMCG or luxury products field. China will be a good choice as there are more openings there nowadays.
marketing is also a field that relies strongly on real experience, so u need to start from entry-level if you dont have related experience. a MBA will def be a plus for big FMCG companies like P&G or Unilever. u may start as a management trainee if no prior experience.
as for marketing in banks, u will need some knowledge in finance or banking. MBA will give you a good ticket there. but most high executives in bank come from finance or banking backgrounds. so if u wanna be in management level, u may need to have these backgrouonds as well.
IT marketing needs some IT background, but less culture-sensitive.
