Thank you for your email. Most of the graduate assistantships, which may be sufficient to support oneself in the program, are found once a student has enrolled and are most commonly found for the second year of study.
The Residence Assistant program is another source of funding. This program is described in our literature, as well as on our web page under Financial Aid.
A number of Krannert students are able to find graduate assistantships, most commonly after enrollment, in other Purdue University departments. The availability of these assistantships is based on individual skills and departmental needs. If you are interested in pursuing an assistantship outside of Krannert, you will need to initiate a self-directed search by contacting the respective department(s) for any assistantship availability and application procedures. The following website:
https://sharepoint.krannert.purdue.edu/ ... fault.aspx is updated with campus assistantships postings that are made available to us. You may wish to browse this periodically; keep in mind, this is not an all inclusive positing by the University. You may also wish to browse the Purdue Graduate School website at:
http://www.purdue.edu/GradSchool/main.html as well as the Purdue employment page at:
www.purdue.edu/Purdue/Employment
Unfortunately, there are very, very few financial aid opportunities for international students available at Purdue. There are various organizations that do offer scholarships, etc. to international students. My suggestion would be to check online or at a library for the various opportunities. Two organizations that quickly come to mind are: The Rotary Foundation;
http://www.rotary.org/foundation/ and the Institute of International Education; IIE Online: Institute of International Education

It would be better if you could find a US cosigner, however, the following is a website that may help in the loan search FinAid | Loans | Private Student Loans
http://www.finaid.org/loans/privatestudentloans.phtml There is a loan for International students who do not have a cosigner. It is called the 'Opportunity' loan. However, there is a high interest rate (prime plus around 6%), high repayment fees, and academic requirements. Stocks, bonds, and mutual funds should be included in the investment category.
