chihlung_h \$m[1]:Hi Polarbear,

Hi Nick,

Hi Rick,

Tuck採用 blind interview, interviewer基本上都是2nd year students。

1. Please introduce yourself
2. Why MBA (I answered Why Tuck here)
3. Goal
4. Teamwork experience
5. Failure experience
6. Contribution to Tuck

Suppose the interview is finished. I walk out the room and meet the admissions officer, what'd you like me to say about you?

Hello Nick,
I'm Jimmy, don't know if you remember me but our workshop had the pleasure of having dinner with you prior to your departure to Hanover. Thanks for all these great info, really appreciate you taking the time from your already busy schedule and englighten us with your own Tuck experience. :laugh

I received an invitation for interview on Saturday (Friday afternoon EST), it is a phone interview with a 2nd year student. I was wondering if there is any tip that you might share with us besides the ones that you have listed on the previous entry...(is there any taboos that I SHOULDN'T bring up during the interview, per se?) ^o)

And I was wondering for those of you who are located at Taiwan and also received an invite, are you also interviewing with 2nd years over the phone?

thanks Nick & best wishes.

Hi Jimmy,

Congratulations on your invitation. I still remember the night! You guys were so amazing to organize such a strong supportive group. It's my pleasure to share my two cents with you.
However, I have to admit that right now I hardly remember your faces so wherever you see me, feel free to stop me and help me refresh my memory!

Speaking of interview, I don't think there is any magic and trick. So we still need to go back to interview 101:
1. Make sure you have one or two convincing and passionate "Why Tuck." Tuck understands that she's not a well-known school in Taiwan so if you can convince your interviewer, he/she may think you're just another "normal" applicant who follows rankings to apply .....
2. Know well the "strengths and weaknesses of Tuck." Like location, class size, academic focus, alumni network.....All of these can be either strength or weakness so be careful....
3. Teamwork, leadership, integrity, people and community are the values we respect and practice here so don't say you have problem with team or don't feel like to contribute.....
4. Maybe you've already had tons of mock in-person interview, but phone interview would definitely be a different experience. Try to do it at least once before Friday!

Gook luck!

他一開始就問我resume上面他有疑問的問題(why did you get a Master's degree in engineering?),我也就順便把我的career path to date跟他講了下. 再來就問了工作上的conflict resolution,和 outside of work activities.

1.Career progression
2.Why MBA
3.Why Tuck
4.Why now
5.A failure experiece when I was a leader
6.How will I contribute to Tuck
7.Three words I want my classmates at Tuck discrible me after graduation.
8.The best accomplishment I did in workplace

Ding: Tuck
Pending: Kellogg、Ross、Fuqua (Ross跟Fuqua都沒有給面試機會,所以應該是等同於被ding,Kellogg雖然有面試,但是機會很小,所以我第一輪應該是全軍覆沒了...)

thank you Donahue922 for sharing your experience. Like you, my results came this morning and I was WL'ed by Tuck. I suppose there's a part of me that is hoping eventually I will be admitted, but mostly I feel the oft-talked about frustration of not receiving a closure from this process. (much like a bad breakup :PP )

Tuck is definitely a great institution, and from my personal experience, it boasts some of the friendliest students. I encourage all applicants who are thinking about applying to Tuck in the later rounds to plan for school visits if time permits. I think one of the weaknesses in my application package is that I never had the chance of visiting, and although I spent much time researching and discussing with others, I could not talk as in-depthly about 'why Tuck' as those who did visit.

Like Donahue922, I am also more than happy to help those with Tuck application questions, albeit my WL status. :laugh

Hi dohahue922,

Hi Jimmy,

Although WL is not a very satisfying result for you, it's definitely a positive message. Early round only account for around 1/3 of total enrollments. There are still 2/3 vacant spots out there so you still stand a good chance in the later rounds.

My suggestion is that contacting the admissions offices ASAP. You should ask if they have specific concerns with you, and showing your passion and commitment to Tuck.

Feel fee to contact me if you need any help!
