大恭喜大恭喜阿 我現在還在訂機票 打算飛到學校去 不知道訂不訂的到
如果不能我只好應著臉皮去在請Emory再次給我phone interview機會了 說來說去我也不該太拿翹 我一開始只是想展現積極所以要跑去美國campus visit 希望可以爭取一些好印象跟獎學金 誰知道阿 一月份機票超難訂 我至今還不趕回Bracken 的Email 真是不知道如何是好阿

謝謝大家的恭賀~~我自己也很開心(雖然還是得面對工作的瑣事)
還記得之前有人問Emory是好在哪裡?為什麼申請?今天去找我的老師,他又更detailed跟我分享一些資訊,我想可以提供大家參考.

我之前有提到過Emory很肯花大錢來請有名的老師,不過只是以一句話帶過,沒有詳述. 這裡補充實例:
London Business School之前花了兩倍的薪資把一位在Wharton很有名的教授請到他們學校當Dean, 兩年後,Emory花了比London Business School高三倍的薪資把這位教授從London Business School挖到Emory當Dean!(一邊寫一邊覺得在美國當到有名的教授真是有賺不完的錢,果然是百分之ㄧ百的資本主義)我不清楚是幾年前的事,但是我想學校經營的理念是沒有變的

Anyway,這是一個實例,一個學校願意花大錢請知名老師就會引起其他學者的群聚效應,學校內學者知名度間接影響學生的申請,學生的表現又會替學校ranking上加值!這樣的正面循環也是為什麼Emory可以竄那麼快的原因吧!

Why Emory? I think above would be a good reason!

I think you should let the Admissions office know about your current situation. It's totally understandable that it would be very hard to book tickets during the holiday season, but it would be harder for the Admissions office to follow up with you if they never heard back from you. I would suggest that you let them know you are working on it, and the possible outcome. Please be aware that our school will close during Christmas and you won't be able to contact anyone of them by then. Let me know if you have any other concerns. Good luck!

Hey Pudding,

Thanks for your advice and for sure, I will write to the school again as my application fee were charged twice(the first time the school said the system have problem process it so I simply sent again but my bank slip showed that I actually paid twice) and I need to ask the bank Emory is dealing with to return my money. Can u give me some suggestion as how to approach school for that matter?
I will also call my travel agent today so I can finalize my schedule. If flying to the States is not a solution, then I will simply do a phone interview here in TWN.

I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this annoying stuff. I would say the best way is to write to the Admissions office and give them your payment information, and then work with them to get the money back.

Meanwhile, I'll also write to them and ask about the best and fastest way to solve this problem. I can ask this in general, or if you could just send me a message to my personal mailbox at this website with your English name or whatever ID you have, and your contact information, they should be able to locate your file and get back to you more quickly.

Thanks Pudding, I actually wrote to the admission officer and they had provided me with solutions. Hope the additional application fee can get back to my pocket in a timely manner haha.
