請問面試時該簡短回答還是愈仔細愈好呢?

下禮拜就要phone interview了，
真的不知道面試時該簡短回答還是回答的愈仔細愈好?
回答仔細點，又擔心面試官覺得我囉嗦~~~
簡短回答又怕答得不夠好，
想請教有經驗的板友們，
到底該怎麼做呢?

當然是回答的愈仔細愈好!
美國人最喜歡specific and details!
Remember you have to well-prepare and satisfy their questions!

hierachical system
just like the organized folders on your desktop
you need to identify what scope of every single question the committee is asking
then answer by appropriate level
general or detail
general answer to general question
and vice versa

The answer is both!

1) Give three points (or 1 or 2 points in one sentence each)
2) Go into detail for each point (look out for the interviewer's reaction for the extent you need to elaborate)
3) Three points again as summary

這個問題剛好我之前準備phone interview時，問過我兩個已經在念MBA的朋友!她們都頃向"言簡意賅"的回答(長度跟wsh建議的差不多)，因為面試的人對於你的回答的部份，有興趣的話，一定會再追問細節，所以一開始的回答只要講重點。(而且我問過我的外國老師，如果回答太攏長，外國人會抓不到重點!)。

分享我自己的經驗

面試一般會問5~8個題目
題型不外乎傷咖上所整理的

每題答案最好1~2.5分鐘
回答方式不見得都要很標準化的條例
(ex: 3 points, first...second...and last...)
但是一個大原則就是要有邏輯性
原因很簡單:
當你不認識一個人時, 第一次聽對方講話
你絕對不會想要聽落落長的句子, 最好是能1~2分鐘之內抓到重點

interviewer有時候會抓你回的答案衍生一些問題
我想原因大概是他想得到比較明確的答案
若真被問到招架不住
先別急著回答, 你可以rephrase一下問題, 趁這時間想一下
然後簡單的用一兩個句子回答

interview是一定會緊張
這種情況之下, 常常會越講越快, 這麼一來有時候句子會連在一起
因此我會比較建議要不斷提醒自己慢慢講
(因為我自己講話速度非常快, 一緊張會講更快...., 朋友幫我mock時, 即表示有些地方他在電話哪一端聽不太清楚)

把interview當作和朋友在聊天去面對
remember to gererate a nice conversation!!

Charity has made a very good point. I always try to talk as if I am meeting a new friend.

The best interviews for me are always the ones that

1) I am asking as many questions as I was being asked, often personal ones

2) We exchange personal contacts and keep in touch like friends
