我是準備申請明年秋季班的applicant,
對於Mccombs有幾點想請教的,
很高興可以得到前輩的回答。

1.我自己查到的資訊中,有提到Moccombs在科技行銷領域方面很不錯,
不知前輩覺得Moccombs在那一方面特別勝出呢？

2.我本身的條件其實真的不是很強,
GMAT：680 (想再考但是無奈乎到一月中前都額滿了,真心覺得無法等下去...)
W/E: 2+ years in Marketing
(好處是：知名國際品牌+工作負責部份全面含括Marketing:includes Ad., Press, Promoting Events, Coop Events; 缺點：也許對很多學校而言還是不夠長)
GPA: 3.4-3.5
TOEFL: still waiting for the grade
因為low AT的關係, 我希望可以在essay方面強調我在marketing方面廣度夠的經驗,
不知道前輩有沒有其他建議的部份？
或是乾脆直接勸我明年再來,因為這個背景機會渺茫.......

Dear Samurai,

Average working experience of class 2010 is 5 years. While that number doesn't disqualify you from application pool, it will make the decision to admit you tougher to make.

Regarding your GMAT: because of current economic condition, many people with brilliant W/E and GMAT are considering the option of going back to school. Admission officers will read thousands of applications with shiny resume and astronomic GMAT. Since GMAT is the only objective measure in whole application package, it does carry a certain weight. It is a necessary evil. Therefore, it is in your best interest to give them a reason to read your essays carefully.

McCombs has very good relationship with companies like Microsoft, Dell, Apple and HP. Also, due to its location, many energy companies hire at McCombs, but only a few of them would sponsor H1 visa. If you are interested in technology marketing, McCombs does have the resources to help you in that regard, but keep in mind that in U.S only major technology companies would sponsor H1 Visa. HP, for example, doesn't offer this option.

Dear All:

I am applying McCombs MBA 2009 and luckily I got the interview invitation.
I would like to know how to process the interview and get the admission.
Since I may not choose on-campus interview, I would like to find alumni in Taiwan.
But when I checked the database of the interview scheduler, I can not specify which one to choose.
Can you help to recommend any good alumni who worked in Taiwan to schedule the interview?
Hope that I can pass the interview and become one of the McCombs students.

Hi,

Regarding which alumni to choose to do the interview in Taiwan, I only know - Ken Wu.
For students who did interview in Taiwan, we all interviewed with Ken Wu.
Ken Wu would give you feedback and your current stance compared with other peers.
Depending on your profile, you either "too good" or "too bad" feedback.
But anyway, just be prepared, know Mccombs and the reasons for MBA.

Mccombs will change to "quarter" system from "semester" system, starting from Class of 2011.
I guess the application process is more competitive than previous years.
After all, job markets are tough.
