[問題]請問大家一個英文問題

不好意思我想請問一個英文問題
那就是之前在學英文的時侯老師說千萬不可以
There have /has.... 要用 There is /are ......

但是我在看托福電腦作文的範本時
（托福電腦作文１８５篇　劉毅）－可以打書名出來嗎？

其中在第十篇 The Role of Luck in Success中有一句
For example, many important discoveries have been made by accident. There have been many cases of reserchers and inventors making major breakthroughs while they were actually trying to solve another problem or create a different device.

是因為時態嗎？

1.there絕對不能跟have or has一起用
have通常用在"有生命的擁有",ex: John has 3 daughters.
所以你講"桌上有一本書", 就要用There is a book on the desk.
(不會用The desk has a book之類的吧...我這個例子還不夠好
but我一時想不出更好的了...希望你懂我意思)
那"桌上有許多書"咧? There are many books on the desk.
所以由"There is a book on the desk."
變成了"There has been a book on the desk."
相信你一定不會有意見的吧XD

2.你舉的例子

我的翻譯是 (我翻譯不會逐字翻,而是意譯)
"舉例來說，許多重要的發現是意外產生的。早有許多例子，是有關於研究者及發明家的重大突破，事實上(他們) 本來是要去解決另一個問題或產生不一樣的儀器。"
"There have been many cases of reserchers and inventors....."
應該要把have been視為一個整體,
我猜測作者原文用完成式是為了強調這是由來已久的事件
所以不要搞混了
