My question is what is "personal"
是指這些東西讓人們缺少隱私嗎
我的書上(中文翻譯)是說比較沒有人情味
他也說不同意因為他覺得會更加方便
A hundred years ago, people communicated over long distances by mail and telegram. Fifty years ago came the telephone. Now, we have the Internet as a new means of communication. Many purists hark back to the days of traditional handwritten letters because they feel that email and telephones are less personal. I disagree and here's why.
If you are living in another country and during the middle of the night, you feel like talking to your parents or friends, you can always pick up the phone and they are one call away. You do not want to wait two or three weeks for your letter to get there if you write to them and what if there is an emergency?
Nowadays, everybody is finding time to be a rare resource. If we are not busy with work, family, school and friends, then there are other distractions like getting in shape, keeping your apartment in order. People simply have a lot less time these days and email is an excellent alternative to keeping in touch with people. There are those that complain a phone call will only take two minutes, but other people might be too busy to take your call. So dropping friends a line via email lets them know that you are still thinking about them and gives them the option to read it at their leisure.
In conclusion, email and tlephones habve not made communication between people less personal, but simply more convenient.
