emerge的意思是一般用以指從某物之後（下）露出；
它亦可用作比喻意，指困難、問題、事實等顯現出來。
emerge的名詞是emergence(與emergency只差個y)。

如果問在台灣學中文的老外，中文什麼部分最難，他可能會回答你「單位詞」吧？英文的可數名詞絕大多數都是以 a / an 當冠詞，遇到中文的「一張紙」、「一匹馬」、「一帖良藥」可就頭大了，更不用說抽象的「一門忠烈」。更何況同一個名詞，可以用的量詞也不只一個，好比我們可以說「一條魚」或者「一尾魚」。這些複雜並且牽涉到對事物認知的用法，對與我們文化不同的外國人而言，的確是很有挑戰性的語言層面。
不過英文當中也有「量詞」的用法，多半很具規則性，比起中文量詞可以說簡單多了，只是要花時間記下來而已。來看看一些常見的英文量詞。

將不可數名詞可數化：

a piece of paper / cake / furniture 一張紙 / 一塊蛋糕 / 一件家具
a bar of soap / a cake of soap 一塊肥皂
a loaf of bread / toast 一條土司
a slice of bread / cake 一片麵包 / 蛋糕
*也就是蛋糕可以有兩種量詞

今天來說說這個有趣的ember

ember也是100字中的一個字，是「餘燼」的意思。
ember： a piece of wood or coal in a fire that is no longer burning but is still red and very hot 〔木塊或煤塊的〕餘燼

glowing embers 發光的餘燼(一般用複數形)

記法：
ember，這個字說實話我也是第一次看到。
查了它的意思之後，我還做了一件事，然後我就把這個單字記住了。
我做了什麼事呢？我到google去查圖！
為什麼查圖？因為我心中有個想法，我想要證明它。
什麼想法呢？
你看ember和amber(琥珀)兩個字長得是不是很像？
兩個都是與光有關的東西，那它們的光澤會不會也是很像？

查了之後，我發覺，兩個的光澤真的很像！

這個很像的光澤讓我把兩個字結合了起來，

一看到ember我就想到amber，
我就想到amber的光澤，然後我就想到「餘燼」這個意思。

利用這個方式來記單字，你會覺得很順，大腦沒有負擔，
因為在資訊充分的情況下，你不需要強記，只要稍微組織
一下資訊，就可以馬上用老字amber來記住新字ember。

這個記法給我們的啟示是：
想要記得更牢，
永遠都不要忘了上google查圖，提供大腦更多的記憶資訊！

比較：
有一個字cinder是灰燼(燒完了)的意思，也請上google查圖。

這個字很好記，因為灰姑娘=cinderella->就是從cinder(灰)-ella(小姑娘)翻譯來的。

記住灰姑娘=cinderella仙杜瑞拉，也就記住cinder=灰燼

記法：
一般記precipice懸崖都是用字根字首字尾法來推出字義：
Precipice=pre 前面+cip =cap頭+ice(名詞字尾，如hospice, artifice, caprice--)
->再探頭向前就會掉下去的地方=懸崖

這個方法有個缺點：
無法推廣用在precipice的其他衍生字，如precipitant(ly), precipitous, precipitate
(用字根字首字尾法很難推出字義)

另一種記法是用P的形狀來記。

我們先上google查圖，找一個左邊是懸崖的圖。

然後想像：
P的右邊是個反向的C，很像露出在海面上的陸地；

P的左邊是一向下的直線，很像一個陡峭的山壁，
超過反向的C的部分是沒入海水的部分

->以後見到precipice
->就想到P的形狀：右邊是陸地，左邊是陡峭山壁的懸崖

這種記法可以在沒有痛苦的情況下，讓人記下precipice的字義

記住了precipice，相關的字就好記了：
precipitous陡峭的(形容p的左邊那條直線好陡)

precipitate猛地落下(形容直線是最短距離，所以掉落的方式是「猛地落下」)

precipitantly倉促地(形容直線是最短距離，所以花的時間最少，所以是「倉促地」)
(precipitant亦可作名詞，意為沈澱劑；solvent為溶劑)

音記：加梗 -->見「梗」想「術語、行話」
梗是一種術語、行話，指表演藝術的橋段或笑點，加梗就是加入橋段或笑點。

說明：
哏（漢語拼音：gén；粵音（粵拼）：gan1；注音符號:ㄍㄣˊ），是滑稽有趣的意思。
後來衍生成一種相聲術語，指相聲中的笑點。也能用來直接指某個笑話。相聲術語中
的包袱是指在前期的表演中埋下好笑的伏筆和進行鋪墊，最後點破笑點使人發笑稱作
抖包袱。對口相聲中，兩名相聲演員還依角色不同，而有「捧哏」與「逗哏」之稱。

人們在談吐中總會有許多「哏」，就像相聲時一樣會出現的笑點或搞笑的台詞、用語。
這個字後來演變成可以直接是指橋段的意思。在台灣，「哏」今多寫作「梗」，人們
可以說「我很喜歡你的梗」意思是「我很喜歡你講話的橋段或笑點」。

都做形容詞用，都是gre級的單字，意思是「某動物的」。

舉例如下：
aquiline老鷹的，初以為是水，不過那是aqu+母音(a或e或i)；aquil(多了L) 則是鷹，另， Aquila [ˋækwələ] 是星座(constellation)裡的鷲座(天鷹座)。
記法：
qu的發音近似鷲(就是老鷹)，而尾巴的in發音(單獨存在時)是鷹，這兩個線索讓人很快記住aquiline的字義---老鷹的。

bovine 牛的，bov- =bull牛
