Cambridge Interview-- 一定要去英國嗎？

嗨嗨，
潛水很久，本來想拿到offer才來報告心路歷程，
不過現在遇到一點困擾，想請教各位先進的看法，
我在11/2寄出 application ducument給Cambridge，
(他們沒有online application)
並於11/27收到interview通知，（時間是2007/1/15)
從信中看來他們似乎希望所有學生都要on-campus interview,
目前在這邊我只看到兩個例子，
一位去香港面試(Accepted)、另一位電話面試(Rejected)，
請問這間學校是否真的不喜歡電話面試呢？
或這邊是否有current student可以解答一下我的疑惑？

By the way, 上星期我參加world MBA tour，有跟他們的
adcom director Mr. Simon聊了一下，問到這個問題，
他竟然跟我眨眨眼說
"你覺得我們應該錄取一個從沒到過Cambridge的人嗎？"
頭整個大起來中....

Just a peronal opinion. MBA is an expensive investment in every sense(time and money wise). You have to spend one or two full year in a place. It's great if you just can discover your beloved schools online(through the website) or via words of friends and bump into getting the offer from that school. But usually people's words are somewhat biased and I believe the old saying of seeing is believing.

Why give anyone a excuse to reject your using the reason that you never visit the school and never show your passion for that school, given your great GPA and more than qualified AT scores and work experience. Cambridge is definitely a great school but you got to see how does it fit your needs or preference. So just order the ticket and dun give any excuse for the admission to reject you based on that suck reasons and demonstrate your passion to the admission office. Compared to the investment in the MBA education, the price of ticket and a few days of annual leave is not that costly, maybe it will win you a admission to one of the best schools in the world.

樓主的條件很好耶,不考慮美國的top10 嗎?
我也想申請Cambridge,可是語言成績還沒考到標準,一整個頭大中
其實平常在公司也常使用英文,可是不曉得是不是自己不夠用功,考IELTS就是考不好..現在報了IBT,又很擔心成績還是生不出來
實在很想先丟出申請, 看能不能拿到conditional offer, 但我又蠻怕沒有語言成績,很快就慘遭reject..希望能有前輩可以給我些建議..

呵呵，
看來是得硬著頭皮花這筆＄＄囉....
雖說相較於學費，一趟機票似乎不算什麼，
但實際上，就是因為學費超貴，才要多省一點對吧？
By the way，我也有申請美國的學校啦，
目前知道Columbia直接reject，
不過當時真的是沒好好寫ESSAY啦，
看來第二輪要好好準備囉！

Sorry for the late reply... I am on vacation now and actually replying your message from Sapporo :-p

Anyway, I would highly encourage you to go to Cambrige for your interview. As 鵬文 said, MBA is such a big investment, air fare flying there to see with your own eyes is minimal comparing to the time and money you gonna spend later. Furthermore, I am sure after going there, you will like Cambridge much better.

If I am not mistaken, 5 Taiwanese went to Cambridge for interview, only 2 got offers and both accepted the offer. Not sure if anyone got offer from phone interview only.....
