ESADE on-campus visit and interview sharing

前言: 12 月是學校的Final Exam的時間，所以對熱心協助的Antlai致上真誠的感謝。另外對於ESADE的Ms. Mary Granger非常熱心協助申請者。因為在九月的MBA Fair後立即收到她的email，此外從開始申請流程與安排on-campus visit/interview的過程中，總能收到她最即時的回覆。(厲害的是她一年四季幾乎都在世界各地巡迴辦Info. Session下還能回覆申請者的問題)在Customer Service部分，ESADE與Mary的確讓人印象深刻。

12/8: 中午搭新航從台北出發先至新加坡轉機，接著在Milan停留一小時候抵達Barcelona。抵達時約12/9早上九點，照著網路上所收集的資料，先搭Areo Shuttle Bus至Palza Catalonia，再轉搭地鐵至學校附近的Hotel。安頓好並詳細研究地圖之後準備到學校探路，大約十來分鐘即可到學校，一路明顯感覺學校位於山坡上的高級住宅區中。此外學校附近交通的確相當方便因為離最近的地鐵站與市區的主要幹道皆約10分鐘路程的範圍內。(近距離的點搭地鐵或公車大約只需EUR1.2)唯一遺憾是沒有校園，僅有一棟建築物。晚上與Antlai聚餐，品嚐西班牙當地小吃Tapas，交換彼此的一些想法，再次感謝他的協助。

12/11: 早上11:00抵達學校，進行的第一個活動是Career Service Center Meeting。參加者除了Mary, CSC的Director外，還有另外三位申請者，分別是來是美國、義大利與日本。首先每一位申請者先自我介紹並說明Why ESADE。接著CSC Director對ESADE作一介紹並說明CSC提供之服務。她一再強調ESADE學生的Diversity。在學期間每一位同學都會有一位顧問協助同學發展並檢視自身的career path，如何達成每個人不同的career goal，她舉出Employers對她說ESADE的學生不像其他program的畢業生經過學校訓練後同質性變的很高。(雖然為名為早餐聚會，但大家都沒心情吃桌上的東西)中午與Antlai吃過飯後，下午旁聽Antlai的一堂case study的課，課堂上每個人皆以自身經驗發表對討論主題的看法，由於是討論中國相關問題，當然我也提供了一點點想法。最後一個行程才是與Mary的面試。以下為面試題目，重點是Mary一開始即要求每一個問題都必須提供實際經驗與例子。

-why MBA?
-Teamwork experience.
-What have you done to improve or change your company?
-Describe a difficult situation in your work.
-Is there any change of your managing style？
-Any experience to be convinced by others？
-Any other school?

最後加上我提的問題，約一個小時完成。

12/12: 返回台北。

後記: ESADE完整的application是於 11/27送出，接著約定12/11進行 on campus-visit與interview。最後於生日當天12/19收到admission。

Is it necessary to face-to-face interview with adcom staff in Spain?

Hellow nexxt0722,

It is not necessary to do the on-campus interview, but it is recommended by ad office since I believe they want to show more about the school to applicants when in the campus. Because I believe on-campus visit could provide me more "feeling" about the school, I arranged the trip to Barcelona.

However, applicants may choose to interview with ad staff on Feb. 10th, 2007. There will be an Info Session on that day, and it is opened to applicant, who has submitted the application before Jan. 31, to schedule an interview.

小妹今年也想申請ESADE這所學校.目前還在準備ESSAY中.希望能夠有機會能在MARY二月份來台時有機會面試.不知道樓主可否分享一下申請背景呢?

記得在1/31前submit application，因為這是唯一能在2/10與Mary預約面試的條件。BTW, Mary如同見過面的人所描述一樣，是一位熱情、nice的人。

背景簡述:
NSYSU ME BS (GPA 3.4)
NCTU E&C MS (GPA 3.6)
Taiwan IT Institute, 4.4 years (Associate engineer -> Section Manager)
[Entrepreneurship, 2 years, part-time, fail finally]
US Software Company, 6 months so far (Manager)
TOFEL: 250(5.5)
GMAT: 610(5.0)

It should be "Any experience that you disagreed with other's point of view, but you were convinced and accepted other's opinion finally".
