The forum was spammed
In 2005, I wrote some articles about experiences of studying abroad. I also asked a few friends to write for me although nobody really did. It was quite nice at that time, at least every now and then, somebody told me this site is helpful in some way. Later on suggested by a friend, I installed a PhPBB forum supported by the hosting service. The forum was intended to be a place for people to discuss experiences of studying abriad. Thanks for all my friends to post some very useful comments. Very soon, nobody cares about the forum and there is no new article for most of days. Guess what, when one day I happened to look at the forum. There are hundreds of users and thousands of articles. I was really shocked at that... soon I found those are robots. The forum was attacked :( it was attacked by some script keeping spamming the forum. It was super fast. Faster than a human can do it. The robot is trying to post ads in light speed. I blocked the IP of the robot, but I needed to take the forum down. Sorry for those who ever posted some useful comments. I needed to delete all. This was a bad experience.
