Trails to go: The Dunes and Rapids
The Dunes area is a scenic gem that most tourists never get to experience. There is a trail that runs alongside the river which leads to rapids. The rapids are particularly beautiful in Spring when the water is high. This area is popular for fishing.
The public access to the dunes and trail is tucked away in the Oxbow Park residential area. It is tricky to find because it isn't as noticeable from the road as the other trails. From Mosley Street (92) turn onto Oxbow Park Rd (at Schoonertown Park - on the east side of the Schoonertown Bridge and across the bridge from the Riverbend Plaza)
Things to bring: Swimming suit, Beachwear, Sun Block, Sandals, Boots, Bath Towel, snacks, Sun Glass, Music CD/mp3 NO HIGH HEELS
