沒這回事，不要死用莫老的文法規則，這己經大聲疾呼好多次了，這裡會用到being是因為由......before the duke of York was denounced and exiled. 簡化而來的，因為與主要子句主詞相同，故可省略。

為什麼B選項不好呢 ?? he was to be 是什麼意思呢??
s'b was to ..是即將、計劃…要做某事的意思，除了這個，B另個錯誤是denounced with exile--->己經改變了原本的句意，原來的句意是二個分開的動作denounced and exiled

這裡會用到being是因為由......before the duke of York was denounced and exiled. 簡化而來的，因為與主要子句主詞相同，故可省略....
為什麼was不一起跟主詞省略，直接用denounced and exiled就好了呢？

我覺得是因為before the duke of York was denounced and exiled.這是被動的用法,所以當名詞被省略之後,was要改成being

如果選項C的being 省略掉你覺得這個答案會不會比較好??

我記得有一種情況下 being 是不可以省略的
例如
副詞子句→獨立分詞片語

As it was a fine day ,they .........
→ It being a fine day, they.........

因為這邊如果把 being 省略掉句子會變的很怪異

請問一下
除了這種情況外
是否being應該省略?

我覺得被動的時候being不能省略吧.

答案的being被省略後,會看不出主動還是被動.

副詞連接詞子句改成簡略式副詞連接詞子句時being(不論主動被動)一定要省略
adv cls --> elliptical adv cls

應該是因為其他四個答案太爛
所以選一個最好的

則中間必須以being隔開
"介詞+being+過去分詞"
