這題弟一次做我也是有一樣的疑問 後來發現
其實自己眼誤
首先 這裡的 N1是指 his letters as a group
N2 是指the rival of the best novels of the time
意思是說拜倫把N1(他所有他自己所有信件) combine起來 足可為N2(當時最最出名的小說的勁敵)

make前面是不是省略would，跟前面的would have made him a great anthropologist 平行，不然的話and前一個過去式形容詞子句後一個現在式形容詞子句，醬可以嗎？
還有N1 of N2 that V
這裡的動詞單複數判斷是依照句意還是？

1. make 前面並沒有省略would；that指代powers, 不是observation，故用複數動詞
2. 第一個that 後面 would 表示虛擬語氣，意指有可能發生；第二個that後面用現在式，意指現在發生的事實
3. N1(plural) of N(singular) that ... 句型中，得看句意判別that指代哪個。在GMAT中，大部分時候偏愛考指代前者。
