我的問題是 我知道這題是考平衡 可是為什麼OG說是平衡 in the rise of....and in the victory of...?
C選項有平衡阿 the rise of....and the victory of...也平衡得很漂亮阿?
E選項用動詞被動was manifested 可是原句是用Manifestations當主詞
E選項不是有改變句意的嫌疑嗎? 它整個被改寫了

另外不涉及文法的問題 我想問各位前輩 考試時這種涉及文化差異的題目多嗎? (因為這是講回教的教派 回教世界的考生好像比較容易作答？)[tab]

我知道這題是考平衡 可是為什麼OG說是平衡 in the rise of....and in the victory of...?
C選項有平衡阿 the rise of....and the victory of...也平衡得很漂亮阿?

我覺得OG的解釋說的很清楚。
C平衡的對象錯了，
而且平衡時介詞盡量不要省略，要不然會改變句意。

E選項用動詞被動was manifested 可是原句是用Manifestations當主詞
E選項不是有改變句意的嫌疑嗎? 它整個被改寫了

OG解釋也說了，這種時間與地點的片語最好是拿到句首，因為放在劇中會有很多歧意。
比如說：
究竟是
Manifestations of Islamic political militancy in the first period of religious reformism
還是
Manifestations of Islamic political militancy in the first period of religious reformism

另外不涉及文法的問題 我想問各位前輩 考試時這種涉及文化差異的題目多嗎? (因為這是講回教的教派 回教世界的考生好像比較容易作答？)

GMAT不都充斥著文化差異嗎？
一下子考印地安人，一下子考美國歷史，一下子考南美洲民族...etc
所以都一樣囉....就別放在心上了。

所以我把A.B刪去了 主詞manifestation 跟動詞were中間被修飾語拆開 不好 會產生歧意
所以我選C[tab]

不過我現在看懂了 謝謝啦[tab]

如同OG解釋所說:

我想請問一下這題A B選項,OG的解釋是說the in...reformism phease had been awkwardly set between the subject and verb of the sentence.
它的意思是說這樣會造成"分裂句"嗎??老莫說是分裂句

如果是的話,那 i often eat this brand name candy. often也是在 subject和verb之間阿??不也是分裂句嗎??

而且C還有一個問題喔~

manifestations不等於the rise
=>會造成be動詞不平衡

同意 hccill，A與C都犯了同樣的錯：
manifestations...were the rise... (ILLOGICALL)
因為 N be N 即 N = N之意

如果題目是
manifestations...were activities... 句意上就過關

OG的解釋未列上這一條...

對喔! 看到 be 動詞就畫個等號看看兩邊一不一樣; manifestations (複數) <> the rise (單數). 一下子去掉四個選項, 剩下 (E) 對. good point; 這一招很牛!
