至於D 我認為應該是從下面變化而來。

這裡的畫線部分，然後簡化
1, 主詞相同取消
2,動詞變分詞,因為是兩句所以前面加,所以變成

雖然好像代名詞+V是比較好的選項,

可是用分詞跟用which導致指代不清比較起來,

我後來看了看,覺得D後面應寫成down from nearly three-quarters the population of the state a decade ago 不然不會覺得看不懂 three-quarters在說什麼嗎? 還是後面的the population of the state 因為是舊資訊省略了??

E我不覺得有什麼錯誤呀, what可以代the population of the state,又當from的受詞

which和it同時是was a decade ago的主詞，不合文法，所以E是錯的。

有沒有only僅是句意的差別,其實二種都說得通
所以多了個only並非A選項被排除的根本原因
實在是A的which在文法上出了問題所造成

(E)的選項
amounting to a little less than half the population of the state, down from what it was a decade ago by nearly three-quarters

其中的by解釋為"相差", Ex, He is taller than I by two inches. (老莫的例子)
原題意是 3/4(From) --> less than 1/2
(E)的題意變為 1 - 3/4 (by) = less than 1/2
