[問題] 這樣的條件可以申請到怎樣的學校勒?

請問個位大大

以下的申請條件 大概可以申請到排名在哪各range的學校ㄚ
有辦法申請到 top30~top50的學校嗎 個人對marketing 或 international business 比較有興趣 請大家幫幫我吧

GMAT 620 AWA?
TOEFL 260 TWE 4
GPA about 3~3.3
work experience 4~4.5 years (about 3 years in media but in different company, one year of international sales representative for a medical instrument company)
undergraduate major civil engineering


今天考了第二次的AT 很不想再考了
如果有機會申請到 2007 年秋季班top50以內的學校
想說 就不想考第三次了 所以想請問各位大大 這樣的成績有機會申請到top30左右的學校嗎 小弟是希望最少能有top50以內的學校 不然跟家裡也不知怎麼交代
如果不行 AT大概要考多少ㄚ 準備半年 一直有一種 AT真不是人念的感覺

個人覺得可以試試啦
蠻有機會的
但前提是要清楚自己為何要念MBA
以及希望從MBA中學到什麼
申請之前千萬要想清楚
這樣錄取心目中理想學校的機會才會增加
畢竟除了成績之外
ADCOM也看你的CAREER GOAL是否清晰

個人覺得前50是一定有機會
不過要進前30可能要注意一下essay
再寫essay的時候要記得換位思考
如果你是admission office你想收什麼要的學生

上個星期三考完第二次 AT 就跟已經在美國奮鬥朋友問 這樣可以申請到哪
然後想說 上來咖啡店這 請教大家 雖然之前一直是潛水 不太敢加入討論
之後有朋友建議 去找代辦把自己的條件包裝的更好

所以上週末就去找了代辦 其一是 朋友的朋友在哈X
老實講 我並沒有真的到這間代辦去詢問
只是透過我朋友 把我的分數 和一些條件給那個代辦
那個代辦直接就跟我朋友講說 AT太低 只能申請 top40-70 的MBA
有希望的還只是在 50-60之間
當朋友轉述給我聽時 老實講 有一點不能接受

周六 跟朋友看完 moster house 心情大好之時 跟朋友去了美X跟捷X
第一家美X 老實講櫃檯小姐 很不專業 一附心不在焉的跟我介紹 收費項目
讓我覺得 不如看DM就好 有講跟沒講 一樣 問問題也是一問三不知
由於顧問只有星期四五跟日 才有空 提供免費諮詢 所以我就離開了

轉進巷子 進了 捷X 櫃檯小姐 讓我填完資料 就跟我說 MBA的顧問今天有空
要不要直接做第一次免費諮詢 想說來都來了 就做吧
顧問姓蔡 聽完我解完我的background 和想申請的學校
他笑了笑 然後跟我說 前50大
只有 University of Pittsburgh 和Rice University 有機會會收我
接著就拿出今年 US News 前五十MBA排名的表格
從第二十名開始 一間 一間說 我AT成績低於該校成績 所以機會不大
我當時心裡只有髒話一串 我當然知道 我AT成績不到大部分前50學校 的平均錄取分數 不然我來找你幹麻 就是看在你們代辦宣稱幾十年 成功代辦經驗
想請你們幫我包裝 我雖然考不高 但是 也有不差的工作經驗啊!!! 如果我每項條件都很完美 來找你們幹麻 你收我三萬元 然後只是因為我條件好申請到好學校 你都不用幫我包裝 這會不會太瞎 這種生意我也要做

後來我很堅持不想唸排名50以後的學校 老實講 其實並不是覺得那些學校不好 只是現在我並沒有想留在美國工作 如果之後要回台灣工作 還是唸些台灣知名度高的學校比較有利 不然至少念個排名不差的學校 回來談工作時 也比較容易說服雇主

他就說 那你要再考一次AT 至少要650
當時心裡的OS 是 "ㄜ 拜託不要啦!!!"
後來他就建議我 還是丟first round

選三間top20~top30
再三間 top30~top50
最後選兩間 top50~70

又說如果我想考就去考 有比620高 就丟給學校
如果沒有 就直接申請 反正至少後面那兩間上的機率會很高

就這樣結束面談 自此心情大壞 朋友跟他女友 看我臉色超臭
就一直安慰我 說代辦也不希望 到時沒申請到學校
跟你有糾紛 所以這樣建議你
又說 他也是看客觀因素 因為分數能看得到
工作經驗和其他面試條件 的確每個學校每年都不盡相同
這些我當然知道 當下只是耍一下任性 真是難為我朋友了

周日 朋友因為怕我心情一直受到影響 就拉我去烤肉
只可惜 心情已受影響 整天像行屍走肉 真是辜負了朋友的好意

後來 今天早上跟一個在 University of Pittsburgh 聊到這樣的狀況
他是覺得 要不要考 取之在我 只是他覺得 除了AT 我的條件並不見得太差
有可能是 AT成績這兩年一直竄高?
之後他就一直安慰我 叫我慢慢想 不急這兩天做決定

在昏睡一下午之後 我上來看到 各位前輩的留言 真是謝謝大家的意見
雖然不知道下一步 到底是 要再考一次AT還是 就直接申請想念的學校了
但真是感動 被人否定了好幾天 終於有人給我正面評價了

P.S. 已經檢查過兩次了 這次應該沒有注音文出現了 真是對不起大家 讓大家看我發牢騷的文章

代辦都是打嘴砲功力一流,dylanchang千萬不要被他影響到
不過你說的也很貼切,因為其實在"諮詢"的這個過程中有很多代辦一點都不專業
這也是這邊許多人都不建議找代辦的原因

However, after considering this situation for several days, I decided to take the GMAT exam one more time.

Now I plan to apply all the schools on the second round, but some friends suggest me to apply on the first round, if I can make it.

However, I'm not sure if I should apply on the frist round and prepare the test at the same time.

620前五十是一定有
大概可以挑戰到30~35左右
工作經歷換了幾間公司應該有不少體認
學習領域跟經驗背景有相關性
應該有明確動機邏輯
以思考模式屬於high context
會有比較多東西可以挖
essay比較不會難寫
620到650很容易

除非是有到650
不然20~30機會不大

不要聽代辦亂說 敝校(u of minnesota, Top 30)今年的Gmat 80% 區間是從600到700, 620已經是幹掉一批人了!

我去年申請前也有跟某代辦諮詢過,諮詢完覺得有被瞧不起,心情很差,感覺是要你降低申請的標準,而不是幫你申請到你夢想中的學校,找代辦不如來咖啡店阿

AT600就有
有利有弊
學生教授超diverse
各個學生又分別有多國經驗
可是校園又小又舊又乾
只有單一學院又只有研究所
資源有限捉襟見肘
課程開天窗是常有的事
不過學生也因此被逼得不得不適應性超強

在學跨文化人力資源時會學到
有的文化屬於high-context
內在思想與外在表達中間含有高度隱喻
言談中隱含意多
cultural norm文化規範多
講一句話可能同時暗示其他資訊
例如:指桑罵槐
對low-context的文化如美國而言
言談直接不帶隱喻會完全只想到桑
再怎麼靈光也不會想到原來旁邊還杵個槐被罵成豬頭都不知道
因為桑就是桑
不會有任何其他延伸
頂多以為怎麼罵的牛頭不對馬嘴
但對high-context文化而言
這樣一個詞句可能已有文化共識的隱喻
大家都在心裡猜到底誰是槐
然後暗地裡眉來眼去就算自己是槐也裝成芭樂樹
對這樣的隱喻不需多做解釋也知道是什麼意思
亞洲文化多半屬於此種

low-context則相反
在內在思想與外發言談中並無或僅少部份夾雜隱喻
turn-right就是turn-right
沒有其他意思
表達直接
若出現模糊意象或模棱兩可時
無法依習俗約定判斷
必須要講明執行細節
美國是典型的low-context

I hope that you feel better after gathering so much information with others here. Please don’t feel frustrated from your test score. I think that your decision of taking another GMAT is really wise, as the higher score you get, the better chance for your future. I would recommend applying at least top 30 schools for they have better networking of helping students to find a better job.

My husband is an alumnus of University of Michigan and was in the admission committee for selecting applicants for his second year in school. We had been through what you’re suffering now. We thought that test score was really important at first, yet later to find out; it is simply part of your package. For your score, it’s too easy to apply a top 50 school, yet you have to ask yourself whether you really want to study at a 50-ranking school? You should know better, what industry you want to switch to and which school has more of that concentration you’re looking for.

The service center you went to was right for what they pointed out “the sooner you apply, the better chance you can get in.” But, they are so wrong for the not being able to get in by applying the second sound. I think with a sufficient and beautiful application package, you can still get in easily in the second run, even the third run. Don’t be fooled and get frustrated.

Your GMAT is not pretty enough, but you still have a great chance to get into a better school than you can image- your resume, essays, and knowing how to answer questions in the interview are the main requirements that school are looking for.

Don’t get mad at those service center, they aren’t really helping you. For applying schools, they should aid to find out more of you: what you’re interested in, and which schools fit you better. They should know what industry you want to switch, how to help you to get a better score, how to research schools, how to set up an interview with school/ or alumni to get more credit, how to write a impressive resume, and most importantly, how to guide you and help you to correct your assays – not only for the grammar, but also for feeding what admission’s looking for.

My husband and I are willing to help you with all the questions you need. He was in USA since he was 14 years old and has lived here for more than 20 years by now. You may agree that he has better knowledge of knowing how to apply school and living in the United States.
