答案是E...我選D,疑問如下
(1)我覺得D的句意比E好...D中的with=in spite of(表示儘管在失業率維持的情況下)...E變成講兩件事!!另外,請問一下with這樣的用法妥當嗎?

(2)economy為什麼要變成複數(常用單數)...若是要用複數的話,為什麼題目中後面that of the other three countries中的that(替代unemployment rate)不用寫成those...

D中with的位置容易被看成修飾Germany，代表德國的狀況。
若with=in spite of的話，小弟認為改寫成下面的樣子比較清楚，

若with=in spite of的話，小弟認為改寫成下面的樣子比較清楚，

不知道對不對，請前輩們指點。

我發現這句也有歧意...year, with....

第二個問題我也不清楚，economics of 3 countries，that(the unemployment rate) of 3 countries.

我一開始也選(C)，後來看到正確答案才發現錯在哪兒？

將此題兩個選項還原:

E. For the last five years the Dutch economy has grown faster than the economies of Britain, France, and Germany have grown, and the unemployment rate has remained well below the unemployeement rate of the other three countries.

請〝硬梆梆〞比較，主詞對主詞，動詞對動詞。

DE只能從句意判斷,
with並不會造成與德國等國家連用的問題,
如果有人看成這樣,那可能是還不清楚with的用法.
with表示與主句之主動詞搭配之伴隨動作或狀況,
從句意判斷,現在要比較的是兩個東西,
一是經濟成長,二是失業率,
兩個是平行地位,非主從關係,
如果用with,就變成失業率的起伏會跟著經濟成長跑,
那就背離原意了.
另外,D中的that子句修飾unemployment,你可以把它省略不看,
最後變成with the unemployment rate單獨存在.
這是什麼意思?完全無意義的句子,且不符合with伴隨動作的文法表達.

E: 各別的economy，所以為複數

我最主要選E是覺得因為E在逗號後面出現了and，剛好,and the unemployment rate has remained有平衡到題目的the Dutch economy has grown
再來檢查一開始的主詞為Dutch，再看the unemployment rate.....other three countries，unemployment rate看句意是德國的，所以我選了它

但是若對照沒畫線部分的 well below that of other three countries
就代表其實economy可以用單數....

單數的economy有後面未劃線的rate支持，
E中the unemployment rate是指什麼？一般我們用冠詞the+名詞是因為文章之前已出現過該名詞，或者已對名詞限定如the nuclear power plant in Germany？

D中的with好像更能表示the unemployment rate是附屬在Dutch economy上的
