Anybody knows why C is correct?

在C中
believed to originate from a small area on thier foreheads,==>看起來是修飾 sounds, 但以逗點分開,不也容易讓人誤會是修飾elephants

另外 that they may use 離sounds 太遠,很容易讓人產生誤會是修飾 foreheads


如果改成底下的句子會不會比較好呢?

之前也看過不少 N,________, that ... 中間隔著插入句 that仍然修飾 N

我以為 S+V...., believed (因為以逗點分隔 所以 believed 修飾main clause's subject 而非the nearest noun)

我看了OG 146 (E) 不同的是
damage lacking 中間沒有","逗點 所以修飾 the nearest noun "damage"

疑問是 有逗點和沒逗點 修飾對象如何區分?

難道此題一定要以句意來判斷 , believed 的修飾對象嗎? 所以 , believed 修飾沒有規定是修飾 the nearest noun or 主要子句的主詞?

補充一下這一題
ADE因為脫節所以很快排除

我認為B錯是在於代詞 this
光憑,and去判斷是不是平衡句有點危險，因為可能是代表獨立子句的出現，不過的確是用來判斷考點的方式

其實會想討論B是因為我自己選錯
this的指代很少在OG裡討論 唯一一題是OG215 但考點是 do so
我記得this有指代前句的用法
查了一下字典[COBUILD]
You use this to refer back to an idea or situation expressed in a previous sentence or sentences.
A job is pretty much nine-to-five. Is this what you feel would make you happy?
此題應該單純只是指代low-frequency sounds，那就應該要用those

不知道這個解釋或我的認知有沒有錯誤？

越做SC越怕簡潔，有時候我認為簡潔的，在OG裡指代不清，有時反之
總之，就是高深莫測的SC 8-|
