對岸某牛人的解釋如下
但我看了半天這拆解那拆解
還是不了這題的平行究竟是這麼一回事
麻煩大家幫幫忙這禮拜六要考試
發覺PP好像比GWD還難實在很慌...
A: as fast as 要和前面對稱，rate不和前面對稱
B: 同上；their feed … and raising 不對稱
C: growing them naturally和前面不對稱
D: correct
E: with … and raising 不對稱

注意：A do B as fast as C do D

以下是我腦殘看了好幾次後的拆解
麻煩幫我看看

suppliers are growing fish---> raising them

還有請問這題的C的THEY會部會有指代的問題呢?

代名詞有兩個在ETS中的常見原則：
1. 優先替代原題主詞。
2.同一句當中的代名詞(含所有格、受格)不能代不同主詞。

有了這兩個觀念後, 再來看一下你的問題
原本suppliers are growing fish twice as fast as ........
by nearly half and raising them on special diets.

they應該要指suppliers (根據觀念1), 但句意與未劃線部分看,
rasing "them"...這邊的them是指fish , 所以此句的they. their . them都要指fish (根據觀念2)

答案D. they grow naturally, cutting their feed allotment
符合A do B as fast as C do D結構
並清楚表達suppliers grow fish as fast as they(fish) grow naturally , (suppliers) cutting their(fish's) feed allotment by nearly half and (suppliers)raising them(fish) on special diets.

主詞受詞都清楚也沒亂移轉^.^

嗯, 我第一次看也覺得是they是suppliers
而樓主問到they有無指代問題,讓我想到那條
“ 同一句當中的代名詞(含所有格、受格)不能代不同主詞 ”
再想想 grow本身可以當suppliers的飼養, 也可當fish的成長;
轉認為應該是當fish的成長, 以避免指代的歧義...

因為C這樣的結構會導致讀者認為growing..., growing..., cutting..., and raising...結構平行,主詞也都是同一個supplier,代名詞優先代替原題主詞的原則,their 就會指代主詞suppliers,fish的位置是受詞,所以後面接的them(受詞的位子)都是fish,就不會有歧異

但是實際上cutting... and raising... 是用來補述suppliers是怎麼來養殖使得魚能夠兩倍快速成長

對不起還是不懂
如果說代名詞優先代替原題主詞
那D they grow naturally, cutting their feed allotment
they 豈不是代替了suppliers, their也是代替suppliers 改變句意嗎

而且你說their代替supplier them代替fish
和“ 同一句當中的代名詞(含所有格、受格)不能代不同主詞 ” 沒有違背嗎

我覺得 suppliers grow fish naturally句意來說是有問題的
好比說我們在中文會說"樹木自然生長"但是不會說"人自然地植樹"
問題出在這個adv naturally使得they指到fish(單複同型)會合理些
如此一來後面用their代fish也不會有代名詞不一致的問題

人養魚:people grow fish

副詞(naturally) 修飾動詞(grow) ,供應商使魚自然地成長
如何自然成長呢?cutting....開始解釋此方式

中英文的文法固然不同,不能全然使用逐字翻譯,不然會使有些語法很奇怪
