[問題]GMATPrep test2的一題請教

The function F is defined for all positive integers n by the following rule: F(n) is the number of positive integers each of which is less than n and has no positive factor in common with n other than 1. If P is any prime number then F(P)=

A. P-1
B. P-2
C. (P+1)/2
D. (P-1)/2
E. 2

不知我認知的題意有錯嗎?
一方程式F(n)=P<n, (P,n)=1=>P和n互質
我所知道的就是F(P)=P
不懂答案是怎麼來的??

誰好心可不可以教教我???

F(n)=P<n
所以你的F(P)不等於P，應該是一個小於且最接近P
但是與P互質的一個數，因為P是質數，所以p-1就是答案囉！

應該是這樣吧！

這一題用舉例消去法做 , 只要違反文中的規則就錯
P is any prime number
F(n) is the number of positive integers

(E) F(P)=2 , P=2 , 則有1,2因子 --> 錯
(D) F(P)= (P-1)/2 , 則P=2,F(P)=0.5 --> 錯
(C) F(P)= (P+1)/2 , 則P=2,F(P)=1.5 --> 錯
(B) F(P)= P-2 , 則P=2 ,F(P)=0 --> 錯
(A) F(P)= P-1 , 則P=2 ,F(P)=1 --> 對
依次檢驗P=3,5,7,11...... 確認
因此 If P is any prime number then F(P)= P-1 這句話可以成立
F(n) is the number of positive integers 也可以成立

我不太了解這題的題意,
請問題中的F(n) is the number of positive integers each of which is less than n and has no positive factor in common with n other than 1是代表什麼意思?
為何會得出F(n)=P<n這個式子?
還有n與P的關係是什麼?

我也有疑問

我的認知是要 P是一個質數, f(P)是小於P且和P互質的數, 求總共有幾個數
假如P是7
那麼應該從2到6都跟P互質, 為什麼不是P-2呢?
