Dear stupidgirl and pudding, I will probably fly to the States in the beginning of Jan. Is that possible for me to arrange on-campus interview? Further to my question, if I was admitted after February, will that affect the amount of scholarship if I am qualified but are too late to get admitted to Emory.

we will have our winter break soon so will not be back to school until end of Jan. Please double check with the admission office before you come. Concerning the scholarship, it really depends so it is hard to say. View it as an extra reward not a necessary. Hope my answers help!

Hi, 陳鵬文,

The last day of this semester is Dec. 7th, and the spring semester starts on Jan. 29 (there will be one-week's Atlanta-based Leadweek prior to that). Anyone who is planning campus visit at Emory should be aware of this; otherwise, you will literally visit our "campus" only. :P

As for scholarship, I think the deadline is for application not for admission decision, which means students are qualified to be considered for scholarship, if they "applied" before Feb, not if they were "accepted" before that... And I second Sandy, you should view it as an extra bonus.

Noted, This morning I received the mail from adcom again there is something wrong the second time with another credit card thus my payment can't be processed. Gosh it's driving me crazy. I've tried twice. Now I gonna try my third card to see if it works for me.

This sounds like an IT problem now... I'm not sure whether I can be of any help, but make sure that you check with every detail (whether it shows "successful payment", whether you have enough credit limit in those specific credit cards, whether your internet signals went ok while you were paying, etc....)

If you wanted me to ask our admissions office, feel free to shoot an message to my mailbox on this site with your question, i'll be happy to ask our admissions office for you!

Seeing all those posting from Emory Alumni, I came to realize what is being truly helpful and I felt it deep within. Thanks pudding for your great help and patience to answer each of my quesiton. Maybe I shall defer my payment so I automatically fall into the category of second round applicants so I can find some time to fly to the States. Keep trying the payment! Communicate with the admission office that you should be considered as first round applicant.
I also had the payment problem last year. But it's resolved and didn't affect the result.

I've gotten the same question about our clubs from a couple of prospective students, so I consolidated the introduction to some major clubs and students organizations at Goizueta for your reference.

If you have further questions with regard to specific groups, feel free to let me know and I'd be happy to ask our club presidents for you.

Club that glorifies God by building friendships and working together to serve the community. Also participates in service projects.

GGLA (Goizueta Gay & Lesbian Association)
Organization focused on the interests and concerns of GBS GLBT students.

Hispanic Business Association
Club that promotes the legacy of Roberto Goizueta by encouraging better understanding of Hispanic culture within the community. Also develops relationships between GBS and the international community.

International Business Association
Organization focused on international business, global perspectives, and the interests and concerns of GBS International Students. Also serves to introduce the GBS community to the talents, tastes and viewpoints of our international colleagues. Famous for great inter-cultural events, parties and dinners.

GWIB: Graduate Women in Business
Club focused on issues related to women in business. Hosts networking and career development events, golf clinics, etc.

General Interests:

Net Impact
Club for students who are committed to using the power of business to improve the world. Members believe that business can earn a profit and create positive social change.

A&E (Goizueta Adventures & Excursions)
Students who enjoy adventurous activities including hiking, cycling and camping.

Goizueta Partners
Club focused on addressing the special needs and concerns of MBA families and significant others. Sponsors events designed to grow a larger sense of community; assists GBS Partners in acclimating to Atlanta, GBS and MBA life.

Goizueta Sports Club
Club that promotes MBA sports and recreation.

Club focused on the education of wine enthusiasts and the enjoyment of wine.

After trying 3 or 4 times to pay the application fee, I finally made it to pay online and received the phone interview invitation today. Got a question for the interview:

1.Since the R1 decision deadline in on 1/1/2007, Emory ask me to choose from the date of 12/14,1/4,1/5,1/8. Will that affect my application and trun it to be considered as R2 applicant if I choose to interview in Year 2007?

I don't think you need to worry about the round deadline. As far as I know, there are already people admitted by Emory now. The sooner you have interview, the earlier you will receive result. Good luck!

Agree.... but make sure you are fully prepared, so pick a date that you feel most comfortable...

今天凌晨還在被工作的事煩心到睡不著時,決定起床收個email
發現....一封title為Goizueta Business School的信~~
還沒到notification date就收到信不是好事就是壞事(害我內心很挫)

結果我收到admission了:) 外加每學期5000元的獎學金,雖然不多但也不無小補(Emory真是大方,我gmat成績爛成這樣還願意給我scholarship...好感人)
我為Coke服務兩年總算是有回報了! 心煩的工作事務也暫時一掃而空~~

期待24號跟current students見面,我要開始來列聚會時的問題清單...
