Camille Claudet worked continuously through the 1880's and early 1890's with the sculptor Auguste Rodin; since there are very few signed works of hers, the inescapable conclusion seems to be one of Claudet conceiving and executing part of Rodin's enormous production of that period.

C) conclusion seems inescapable that part of Rodin's enormous production of that period was conceived and executed by Claudet

E) seemingly inescapable conclusion is that Claudet would have conceived and executed part of Rodin's enormous production of that period

The key is C. Why doesn't "E" work?
Can someone please kindly help?

I would say "conclusion seems inescapable is more native to seemingly inescapable conclusion".

Furthermore, in my opinion, "the conclusion that" is better than "the conclusion is that".

答案E動詞改成副詞...不選~~~

(E) is awkward and unclear
Remeber adverbial clause such as "since..." modify the verb in the main clause.

C) conclusion seems inescapable because there are few signed works of hers
=>if there are many signed works of hers, the conclusion might not seems inescapable (make sense)

E) seemingly inescapable conclusion is that Claudet would have conceived and executed......, because there are few signed works of hers
=>if there are many signed wors of hers, the seemingly inescapable conclusion might not be that Caludet .......
what might the inescapable conclusion be then? Why must there be an inescapable conclusion anyway? (doesn't make sense)

還有表過去可能的用語是 might/may have p.p. 不是would have p.p.
而且conclusion語意上用直述句比較貼切
