所以這時候答案就要去找某種合理狀況, 讓1990年總雨量比1910年多

==>那和前提加起來不就鐵定1910年比較多, 所以impossible!

B. 這樣就不可能讓1990年總雨量比1910年多, impossible!

C. 小於2inches的1990年比較多
=>題目已經說moderate rainfall (1-2 inches),
light rainfall (0-1 inch)的天數比較少了,和前提相違背;

請注意本題問的是possible ....所以只要有可能發生的...就是對的...
答案BCE錯的很明顯不再多說...重點是AD決選...

答案D是決不可能發生的..不想在舉例...例子反而會讓人混亂..直接設公式...
1910年M程度假設X天...1990就是X-n天(n為正整數)...兩邊都取極端值..
2 * (X-n) 絕對不可能大於 1 * X兩倍...你可以隨便舉例代代看就知了...

答案A是有可能發生的...請注意heavy雨量是沒有上限的(另外三種是有限定的)...
所以雖然天數少...但是如果1990一天下個一萬公尺的雨量...是可以超過1910年365天的雨量....題幹的結論仍然是可以成立的~~~

不可能的，既然日數都是1910比較多，加起來日數不可能一樣

確實是A與D決選, B,C,E已經違反題目的敘述不看.

先談D : more than twice what it had been in 1910 意思是說 比1910年代有的inches數還要超過兩倍, 意思是說 假設1910 有 10 inches, 那麼 1990 就會是 假設是21, (10 * 2 + 1) = 21.
more than twice => 比對方的兩倍要多, 兩倍是20, + 1, 就變成21, 確實是more than twice what ...
數據推翻, 假設1910年有Moderate rainfall 251天, 1990有250天, 假設1990有降雨量中等的最高2 inches, 1910有最低的1 inches, 結果會是 :
1990 => 250 * 2 = 500
1910 => 251 * 1 = 251 哪來的多於兩倍呀? 你可以用各種假設的天數帶進去, 在不違反題目意思下, 都不可能是more than twice what is had been ...

不用因此嚇到…因為這題邏輯的觀念就僅在於
"天數"和"量"的差異(題目也就強調這兩個點)

所以要考的觀念只有：天數多=降雨量量多嗎？

天數少 也有可能降雨量多 (also possible )
