Yimmiwan!!
本來我看Tuck的網站感覺學校小小的, 畢竟是College based, 但又看到Business week給她的rank比較高, 加上台灣對整體Duke知名度比較高.....所以覺得納悶, 因我正考慮值不值得飛過去Tuck......

Tuck is generally regarded as a "better" school, like Yimmiwan said. I think Duke is more famous because they accept more people from Taiwan. Until last year, Tuck's student body is not very diversified: predominately white males.

Actually, it's "Fuqua", not "Faque". The latter pronunciation is weird.

I think the answer of this question depends on where you'd like to go after MBA. If you like MC or IB, you should choose Tuck; if you aim at health care, you'd better take Fuqua. But generally, Tuck has a better name than Fuqua.

Are you sure Tuck wants you to Hanover? People there know well how far Taiwan from Hanover so I don't think they'd ask a Taiwan applicant fly across half of the world just to conduct an interview. If you want to take a look at the school and feel the atmosphere there, that's another story, and you won't regret it. The campus is beautiful, and Tuck is kind of like the Harry Potter's Hogwarts.

If you want to save the cost, but don't like a phone interview, alumna interview is still manageable. Tuck's admission are very reasonable and friendly. So just ask!

Dear chihlung_h,
Thanks for your information sharing!
May I know why you know so much about Tuck? Are you one of alumni from Tuck? How can I know more about this school?
Because the email only said to conduct on-campus interview before 2/19, I "guess" maybe there is no option? Anyway, I already booked my schedule with admissions and will visit its campus because I think it is worth to experience the school and the students.
Thanks for your information.

From my earlier research, I know Tuck also grands interview even before one submits his or her application. There are "interview slots" available starting late August/early September, and applicants can sign up on-line. All those interviews are done on-campus, giving applicants the opportunity to visit school as well. From I heard, those interview spots get filled up pretty quickly, especially for R1 and other eager applicants, because many applicants want to show Tuck that they are proactive in pursuing admission from the school.

I've been to both schools and other business schools in early November. That's why I have some 1st hand info.

I arrived Tuck on 11/13, and was struck by the crowd there, 27 visitors. It's hard to believe so many people would come to a long way to such a remote place... From this point, you can also see how Tuck is popular in the U.S.

Although the e-mail asked you to complete the interview by 2/19, actually it's negotiable. Take me for example, the interview deadline for EA was 10/12. I told them I want an on-campus interview, somehow I can't make it by early Nov. so they granted me a favor to postpone the deadline.

To know Tuck more, you can use one function provided in Tuck's website. It's called "Tuck Connections." Just fill in your background info then it will match you with a current student. It's a great way to probe insights and expand networks.

Tuck currently has no Taiwan student, but there are still some Chinese and Taiwan-rooted students. They are very friendly and willing to provide help. If you like, I can provide you the contact info.
