最近好像沒人在討論Smith
跟大家分享一下

面試官是admission committee的人
一開始就大力推薦自己學校
回應也很熱情

不過之前直接拒絕我的學校
interviewer都給我不錯的感覺..

總之以下是大致的題目
希望能有幫助

1. go through your resume, why MBA, why Smith
2. teamwork experience
3. leadership experience
4. how to deal with a conflict
5. what can you contribute
6. why are you a qualified candidate
7. any question

Hi Vigorox,

When did you submit your applicant and when did take in this thelephone?
I submitted my application on Jan'15'07 but not received telephone interview notification instead the school sent me a mail indicating that I was encouraged to take participate in visitor program.

我在06年11月就送出申請
約等了兩週才收到interview invitation

不過當時phone interview的時間就已經排到今年1月了
加上學校又搞烏龍
所以我是2007/02/05做完interview

我今年也申請了maryland II round (Dec,15). 面試是career center的人
問題大致根vigorox一樣,但少了teamwork的問題
多了what area do you want to improve?
這個問題覺得自己沒有答的很好,如果以後有要面試的申請者們,可能要先準備一下.
句我所知,大部分第三批的申請者都還沒有接到面試邀請,所以可以審慎樂觀的等待一下~

我也是在11初丟出申請書
兩個星期後收到interview通知
Maryland的interview reservation system有些令人confuse
他沒有phone interview的選項, 卻再通知信理說可以排
當時我是以e-mail做詢問, 最後完成reservation
12初完成phone interview

口試當天, 校方沒有按照時間打電話過來, 而我又等的很想睡覺
等了半小時, 我決定自己打電話過去
校方解釋, 他們很抱歉, 因為電話系統有問題, 接著馬上請interviewer回撥電話給我
大致上, 校方很客氣
不過我一直到上個星期才收到入學取可通知
或許是公立學校吧~感覺速度比較慢
所以還沒收到通知的人, 等一下就會有好消息喔 ;))

我也來分享一下幾小時前面試的心得。

我的面試官是 Sandi Epstein，也是 career center 的人，
今天帶我 tour 的兩個 current sturent 的 career "coach" 都是她。
人很友善，給我的反應不多不少剛剛好，不過最後有對我的英文做出一些評價，
以我個人的看法，有收到有意義的面試後反應是很不錯的。

還記得起來的題目部分：(除了第一題，順序忘的差不多了)
Why Now, Why Smith, Your career path(真的是一次問三題)
Your target industry and region(US or your country or..) after MBA
順便追問了我呆過的公司的性質以及為什麼公司名稱改變了
Leadership experience
Why you can work well under stress?
How would your partners or colleagues describe you as a leader?
Why you think you are ready for MBA?
What other school you applied? Your priority for them?
問問題：我跟他說其他問題都在 visit 時問過學生了，所以問的問題都是跟找工作有關，
問的是 IT 與國際學生的找工作(因為個人背景)。

面試時 Sandi 的桌上有一張紙，寫了八九行字，每行字下面有三行橫線，
我嚴重懷疑是「公定版」面試題目。
可是一來 Sandi 一開始筆記了一點點在自己的筆記本後就不記了，
二來大家的題目雖然大同卻有小異，小弟不敢保證那張紙就是「表定」的面試題庫。

個人面試時程分享(回答前面關於拿到面試的時間)：
1/15 丟申請(第三輪)，1/26 收到邀請面試的信，當天約好電話面試的時間(當時只想著偷懶)。
1/30 良心發現發信去改成 on-campus interview，並希望能順便參觀。當天就回信說改成 on-campus interview 了。
2/5 出發前兩天下午問我要不要去參觀，並要我考慮後在面試前 48 小時回信要不要答應，
(兩天不就是 48 小時，就是沒有我的考慮時間 orz)
馬上回信說好，我去，但是因為早就排好當天開車去，因此中午才能到。
2/6 出發前一天下午兩點多收到確定的行程。(老實說，有點慢 orz)
2/7 開四小時車過去，待了五小時掉了一隻手機，再開四小時回來。加上休息全程 15 小時。

其他我覺得可以和大家分享的資訊：
1. 我的面試官 Sandi 說面試未來的學生也是他的工作，表示 career center 的人似乎也常常面試？
2. current student 說 admission decision 會到表定公布日才用 email 發出來。

個人的心得：
當地的學生都很友善，整天參觀行程最大遺憾就是沒有與 Shane 前輩多聊聊，
不過 Shane 今天的造型可真是相當的讚!

我是申請1/15那輪，
昨天收到interview通知的e-mail，
進入網頁後搜尋地區，
選了college park，只剩下三月初的時段，
點進去後其中有個選項問要on campus還是phone，
我選了phone，之後的確認信說學校會主動打來。
不知道這樣的程序跟大家一不一樣？

還有一個月的時間，
之前第一家pittsburgh的面試講的零零落落，
希望之後的面試別再緊張了 >"<

我跟 phak 的狀況一樣，也是收到了 interview 的信而沒有要去 visit 的信。
不過有聽說(and, 我的經驗也證明)他們的效率並不是很好，所以加油，祝你順利拿到！

想起來一個覺得有相關的個人經驗，放上來跟大家分享。
我在請他給我參觀與面試的行程時有特別問過，
能不能讓一位有志於 MBA 且對 Smith 有興趣的人跟我一起參觀，
答案是「面試者的行程叫做 Host，參觀的人的行程叫做 Vibe，
因為每個人的行程都是 so 特別，所以八拉八拉」...就是不行啦。
感覺起來就算參加這個 Vibe，去了學校參觀也不代表可以要到 interview 機會，
不像某些學校，不會讓不管有沒有面試的人都可以一起參觀，
或者說比較 flexible，and/or 對遠來的客人比較好...

又想起來一個面試的心得，
請 on-campus 的面試者記得拿面試官的名片！
不然就會像我一樣，
回家了發現網路上有面試官的名字職稱資料就是沒有 email ..Orz
至於 telphone interview，我不知道要怎麼拿到面試官的 email，
但是請記得靠自己在網頁上找半天是很容易找不到的 Orz

我當天坐在教室的右後角落，坐在海軍來的壯漢 Migual 旁邊。

我在課堂上看到 Shane 的左手邊有一位看人看名字都覺得應該是來自台灣的男士，
不曉得是不是你? ;))
